Chapter 1 - inspiring moment from a common man

I sat at home on the sofa in the hope of becoming an aspiring writer. I was thinking of starting up a story. But how should I begin? Where do I start? I started walking around the hall to forge ideas I would want to interpret. So, I decided to walk out. I walked down the streets and came across a beggar. Not to bother him, I dropped off near by a convenient store to buy some groceries. At a glance from the outside, the same man around his 40's, dressed in a plain blue shirt and black pants which was worn out. Later on, I thought of going near by him and give him some food. A sudden thought came to me that this man might be someone I could use to narrate my storyline. I offered the food to him but he refused. I persuaded him to take it but he still didn't want it. I might look like a guy begging in front of this watch shop but I live here. But judging from your looks you seem to be in a mess," I told him". Hey son, do you want to hear a good story.

He glanced at his watch showing 5.00 p.m. He closed the lights, and the shutter. We then headed to the park. Walking along, I asked him if he was a watch sales man. He looked at me and smiled saying , nope its my own store inherited by my family.

That fine day Mr. Robert wore his tuxedo to work. I had an important meeting that day. It was that day all of it happened. I shouldn't ignored my wife call during that day. It was the time we usually have dinner with my 12 year old son. I was busy as it is an important project and would be valuable if we could set up another branch there.

…

Then he changed the story by giving me some appropriate advice. You shouldn't feel greedy, too disciple on yourself and forget your loved ones. To be honest with you, I was a man with few words. I barely discuss work stuffs with my wife and kid and nevertheless I was not a cheerful person. I don't take much notice of things only worshipping to my sole work. I received numerous awards in my cabinet which I think I deserved them so much. Then, I asked him, ' what do you do', you seem to be a business man I could tell. Not just a business man but the owner of Swiss watch. I was stunned that moment. My passion for watch is limitless since I was a kid. Due to my obsession, I lost my loved ones.

That day, to celebrate success I was spending my leisure time at the bar with rest of my employees. It was still an ongoing talk I had with the other chairman and admin. Staff. I went home the same night after the event. It was about 2 in the morning. Thankfully I was not sober. The folks were waiting in front of my home, and fire starting to spread wide . I couldn't see my wife and kid. I just didn't know what to do but they tried to calm me down. I hope they are fine, I could only pray nothing more than that. The fireman did all they could but he didn't fine anyone at home. It took few hours to clear out the horrifying fire. One of the fire department officer came gave me a box which contained some books and drawings. Its my kid items I could say. One of the police officer in the car came across me and said hey sir there's nothing to be worry about. They are here. Your wife and kid are here. I was in tears and look at the house twice with disbelief. She ran across me and I could barely say nothing but just a sorry. I should just answered the call. My wife looked at me and held my hand saying, 'what matters is that we are safe'. I just couldn't say much and hugged them. I would want to leave this company and start new chapter in my life. I give a good thought about it. That was my speech to the board of director. He could accept my loss to the company and wishing me luck in the future. But I needed a change and this might be it. I couldn't bare losing them again. I said to my self .

Then his wife and daughter approached the same spot we sat. His son was playing joyfully at the park on the swing. You didn't tell me you have a daughter. I asked. He told me her name is Meera. She is 4 right now. I was in tears when hearing his terrific story.

I asked his permission if I could narrate his story. He smiled and said go ahead son. I hope too hear good news about it. So, I headed back home.

AFTER 6 MONTHS….

My book title THE WATCH-FUL INCIDENT was published. It received numerous applause from the readers and I was on the contender for the next year debut- writer. Much happier to hear that…wow. I hoped Mr. Robert would love the story. Well this is just a start up to my career.
