Chapter 1 - Lucky and Stone

It's a normal day in town with the weather being nice and a few clouds floating by. Humans walking around doing who knows what humans do.

Today we will be looking not at the kids playing in the park, the cars driving or the parents sitting at the benches while their children play. No, let's go look up this willow tree. Right there up in the branches resting peacefully but not fully asleep.

A black cat.

The sun gently warming her jet black fur while her ears slightly twitch just to make sure the sound of the kids playing isn't a sound of danger. She stretches her legs and yawns. Opening her eyes she reveals her leafy green eyes but takes a moment to actually get up and look around.

"Oh, right." The cat mumbles. "It's the day where more kids stay in the park longer than usual. I was hoping to find lunch in the trash too."

The feline watches and listens to her surroundings and then jumps down to the ground starting her search for food.

When the park isn't an option the next best thing is to search the nearby neighborhood to see if any outdoor cats have left any food behind. The first cat bowl happens to be at a blue house. There an orange long haired tabby sits on his property.

"Rex!" The black cat called out.

"Hello, Lucky." Rex answered. "I see you're still alive."

Lucky looks down into the bowl and then back at Rex annoyed. "Couldn't leave any for me?"

Rex looks away unamused, "It's my food I'll eat as much as I want."

"No worries I'll just see if Lola has any left. She usually does."

Rex walks up to Lucky and sniffs her. "It's been awhile since you've wanted to mate. Why's that?"

"I told you I haven't felt like it after being stuck in a metal trap and taken somewhere. I'll let you be now."

Lucky starts running but before she was out of earshot Rex yells out. "Say Hello to our daughter for me!"

Jumping over fences and carefully crossing some streets she reaches a brown house with a white fence. The smell of familiarity gets stronger and stronger but so is the smell of food. Alas, a plastic bowl with cat kibble still in it. From the backyard a creature appears. Just a cat who is still a kitten. 8 months to be exact. Her fur is short haired just like Lucky but her color is Calico.

"Momma!" She yells.
