Chapter 2 - Day 1,Birthday

A beam of light crashed against the young prince's face as Liviana pulled open the black silk curtains causing him to blink several times and absorb his surroundings. Justus lifted another concubine off of his waist and made his way to his bathroom. He peered into the mirror and had to move his shaggy, amber hair out the way to see his face. After looking at himself, he slid into his cold tub.

He submerged himself into the chilly water and stared into the water for awhile before being interrupted by Liviana, the girl that opened the curtains. She dropped her sheer ropes and stepped into the tub to join him.

"Aww the birthday boy is still upset"Liviana greeted him with a sly smile.

"You dare tease your prince?"Justus retorted in good spirits. His hand darted under the water swiftly then raised to splash her from the opposite side of the tub but she instinctively dodged by approaching him from underneath the cold water. A knock suddenly came to the Bocote wood door.

"Enter" Justus groaned causing several concubines in the other room to begin to stir.

"My prince, the king has summoned you to lunch" Justus' stewardess, Alice, said with a faint voice. Liviana emerged from the water and made eye contact with the prince.

"Ugh, see you later" Liviana made small whirlpools with her fingers in the water.

She pouted as he gently pulled on her long pointed ears and then made his way out of the tub, once he stood up Alice immediately bowed her head and exited the room blushing After she had left, he reached into his jewelry cabinet and placed on his necklace, equipped his Royal Circlet, assembled a rainbow of rings onto his fingers, and then got dressed in his long silver lined tunic that extended down past his ankles, spilling onto the floor.

"Liviana, don't you want to join me?" Justus asked.

"Oh, I'll just wait here with the others" Liviana huffed.

Her pale face continued to pout as she created swirls in the tub with her slim fingers. Justus only shook his head and walked towards the royal dining room quietly with Alice at his side. Once he entered the dining room, the stewardess began the prince's Royal introduction to the court. Stewardess Alice's once faint voice turned into a projected boom as she said, "His Royal highness and Duke of Gentas Prince Justus the Third has arrived."

The dining room was a cathedral style room with a seventy-foot tall arching ceiling with one gigantic mage-light chandelier and windows lining the sides of the white marble arches. On the floor was an extremely large wooden table that could fit a hundred people and at the far end from the door sits the king's twenty foot tall throne which is carved from the same granite as the floor and ceiling. In that throne sits King Dalmatius with a stone expression and chestnut brown hair with streaks of silver, which was long and unkempt. King Dalmatius spoke in a sleepy quiet voice which was easily heard in the silent hall.

"Son, how was..." Dalmatius started with a newly gained hardy grin. Mid sentence a member of the royal court stood and turned to the King . Everyone looked at this Herald with confusion as he reached into his hooded cloak and pulled out two curved blades while leaping onto the Great Dining table, trampling over dishes and drinks. The Titanium Royal Guard sprang into action by also leaping onto the table creating a wall between the would be assassin and the King. One of the Titanium Guards descended from the ceiling and landed directly behind the assassin. The Herald continued to sprint down the table in a frenzied manner until getting into knife throwing distance of the King. Dalmatius waved his hand in a gesture for his guards to move out of the way. The Titanium Guard looked at each other then jumped off the table but one remained looming behind the assassin.

"I don't think this is a good idea," Death Guardian, the Senior, shook his head.

"Th' Kin' is awesome"- Bleak Stinger, the Brash, celebrated.

The third guard, Wise Stalker, didn't speak but continued to close in on the assassin when he got into stabbing range he stabbed towards the King's heart with the blade in his right hand. The king quickly grabbed the assassin's wrist ,slamming him against the solid floor with the force of several men. Upon observing him for a second Dalmatius came to the conclusion that the assassin is very dead. The room was in shock.

Some fainted.

Some screamed.

Some gasped.

Some cheered.

Justus' heart jumped in his chest when the herald's head hit the floor. That man had been a member of the royal court for years yet Dalmatius crushed him like a fly. Blood poured from his head through cracks in his skull forming a crimson and black puddle. King Dalmatius squatted down and got a better look at the mangled face.

"Son, the ceremony will be delayed until this is handled and you will travel to Wraithstle with three Titanium Guards to check on your uncle, since he might be the target of Black Crafts," Dalmatius stated in a somber tone.
