Chereads / The Venomous Serpent / Chapter 3 - Chapter 2.

Chapter 3 - Chapter 2.

I checked around me and saw a beautiful forest that felt like it was full of magical power, the perfect place for an Ever Beast. I checked out the tree line so that I'm not blindsided by the Ever Serpent. I don't see any indications that its around, but I could be missing it since Ever Beasts can camouflage themselves in any type of environment.

" You don't seem as stupid as the others who enter here." I hear a voice clear as can be beside me. I turned to find a giant rainbow Serpent beside me. I swallowed out of per fear from the knowledge that I was outmatched when it came to stealth and that it knew I was here before I could find it. "You will have the same death as them though. My poison kills anything that it meets."

I jumped back from her trying to get a little bit of space to dodge but she had already snapped her fangs closed against my right rib cage and my right aftarm (between elbow and shoulder). I felt the sharp stabbing pain and I could feel how the poison was going through my body. I was lucky that my immunity to poison just made the poison flow through out my body and not affect it. Now that my right arm and side was wounded, I would have to use my left hand to hold my sword. I pulled out the sword and turned it to the Serpent.

She snorted as she saw me holding the sword. "You are already dying so why are you trying to fight it?" I looked into her eyes and I decided that I would have to use a spell that would hurt me in the process of killing her. It would cause my blood and heart to slow down until I was close to death, but I would do it for the chance to be free of the name of Trinity.

I raised my sword in my left hand and spoke the spell to change my Fate. "God Boreas, of the frigid north, freeze all in my path and change the flow of the Winds of Fate. Frozen Tundra!"

The barrier was then battered with a wind that was so cold it started to freeze everything inside. The Ever Serpent backed up and coiled up as much as she could to try and keep warm, but the spell was working and freezing her due to her cold-blooded nature. I walked slowly towards where she had gone as I started to freeze myself and while she was shivering, I cut down straight into her neck and after multiple swings and the frozen landscape around me I finally killed the Ever Serpent. Her head laid right beside her body and I fell to my knees as I saw the barrier disappear.

It was two days later when I regained consciousness. I was in the castle and I had two maids standing in the room awaiting my awakening. They told me that the king was asking for me to meet him as soon as I awoke. I was dressed into a beautiful gown that I knew could feed four peasant families for at least a year each. I was guided to the King's study and I knocked on the door.

"Come in," Said King Zen. I opened the door and walked up to his desk which was about eight feet long and four feet wide with dragon heads carved into the wood on all four corners. I curtsied to him and waited his order before I rose up. "You may rise Amega Trinity." King Zen gave me his permission.

"Your Majesty, I am honored to see you today." I told him as I wanted to hurry up the conversation that would help me understand the situation, I was in. "The maids told me I was healed by the Royal Healer Core. I wish to offer my thanks for allowing them to assist me, Your Majesty."

"Yes, yes, I understand that you are thankful, but I have some questions I hope you can answer for me. I want to know how you were able to live when the Ever Serpent had already bit you and how you killed it." He looked at me wondering if I had a good answer.

"I have an immunity to poison, Your Majesty. I was born with the immunity, but my parents never cared enough to investigate my status and the abilities I was born with. I also can call upon a God's Magic if I know the name of said God. The magic I used against the Ever Serpent is known as Frozen Tundra and it uses the magic of the God Boreas." I told the truth of my immunity and magic so that the King would trust me in the future.

His reaction was his eyes widening and a smile a crossed his face. My words seemed to make him happy. I don't know what he was thinking but I hoped it would allow me to break free of the shackles of my family. "Amega, what do you feel towards your family?" His question changed my life for the better and I felt relieved for years afterwards for it.

"Your Majesty, to be honest?" I questioned and he nodded. I looked and made sure that we were alone, "I feel disgust to know that they are my family. If I had a choice, I would like to be removed from their family line and given my own. Everything about them causes me to want to go against them."

"I think I have a perfect solution to that but first what do you think about the Hemel Family?" He brought up the only other duke family other than Trinity family.

"I think they are aiming for something that will cause them to lose their loyalty if it helps them to their goals. They just like my family disgust me." I speak my mind about the matter.

"Good to know your thoughts on the matter. I have decided that you will received the poison sack from the Ever Serpent. I also wish to remove your name from the Trinity family line and create a new Family Registry for you. However, this also means I will need your help keeping the two-duke family's in line, so I hereby grant you the title of Duchess Serpentine. You will be tie breaker between the duke houses from now on. You will receive a Duke's estate and some businesses to start with. In the future I might even give your line the title of Archduchess." The decree went out that very day and it changed the way the kingdom would be run for centuries to come.
