*PREVIOUS CHAPTER*
"Duchess, the king told you to come to the Royal Palace now...." Mary was worried, her voice and her body were trembling.
***
I arrived at the palace, again. I felt sick from coming here each time to meet with him. Elia and the princes were even worse to meet, I don't even want to know how the queen is.
I was guided to the king's office and I immediately felt like dying. Elia and the queen were waiting for me, not the king. 'The queen must've sided with Elia....' The queen looked pretty arrogant and she didn't even glance at me.
The king came and sat down on his chair, he put his hand on his mouth and coughed a little. I could see that he didn't feel well but I shook it off since it could be a cold.
"Celestine Florys... You will go to war with your husband...." The king said coldly. I felt my heart drop but at the same time I felt very relieved. 'So we'll go to war together...' I felt my heart jump but held my pokerface.
"Sister, your fighting skills were so good in the Luvenis Mansion. You'll be great of help during the war!" Elia mockingly said. I could already feel that she planned this, but she probably doesn't know about me.
I bowed and gave the king a smile. "I'm honoured, your majesty. Elia, have a great time without me" I gave her a glance and a smirk. She saw what I did and looked at the queen, who was waving her fan nonchalantly.
***
"I can go with the duke! I won't have to worry about being alone" I said to Naralia in the carriage. She also figured out that Elia and the queen planned this and didn't feel too good about it.
"You will go to war, you can lose your life if you act rashly. Your magic also has its limits" Naralia made my mood turn gloomy.
"Well, I still have my medical knowledge. I will only fight when needed" I smiled. I was wondering how the duke would react to the news though, I wonder if he would actually care.
*Florys Estate*
"What?! The king wants to send you to war?!" The duke slammed his fist on his desk. 'Yup, I should've thought about this earlier' I thought while seeing him slamming his desk.
"Elia and the queen must've convinced the king of my 'great' fighting skills. The queen is on Elia's side" The duke calmed down a little and starting sighing a lot. He looked at me and had a difficult expression.
"Do you know what it means to go to war? You have to see dead people everyday and everywhere, are you sure you can stand it?" The duke gave me a firm gaze. I gave him a heavy nod.
"I won't fight, I will attend for medical help. I'm used to seeing dead bodies" I widened my eyes. 'Crap, I said too much... Does he suspect me..?' I glared at the duke, he gave me a nod.
"Well then, our army's health will be in your hands. Doctor Florys" The duke started teasing me again. I gave him a glare but he kept that fake smile on his face.
"I'll be in the library if you need me" I stormed off.
I was studying more about herbs here and noticed that they were almost all the same as in China. It's only that some 'safe' herbs are poisonous here or vice versa. I also noticed that there was almost no knowledge on how to keep herbs.
The librarian handed me more books. I saw a book about magic, I felt a chill down my spine. "I can't bring any books about magic to my chamber again..." I sighed. I opened it and there was nothing, it was completely empty.
"That book's content can on,y be read with divine powers. I think it was something about ancient magic, nothing important" The librarian said while putting some books in racks. I put the book away and kept studying herbs.
*Evening, 7 p.m.*
Naralia gave me advice on using magic and the training. I knew how to summon objects now and how to make things disappear. As for my spirit weapon, it's still the same.
"When we go to war, you'll encounter numerous monsters. The army isn't strong enough to beat them, they'll need you" I gave Naralia a nod.
After Naralia and I fight a lot together, she can evolve. She and I would become stronger but would that be good? We will have a lot of enemies in the future if this keeps up.
