Chapter 18 - The Angel who fall for a Human

Once upon a time, in the clouds above, angles lived in peace and harmony. Every year three babies are born. However, this year an unexpected angel was born before the end of the year. Once the king heard of this, he sent his men to see the fourth baby of the year. They were ordered to kill the fourth. However, once they saw it, they decided to protect it. The king sent man after man but all met the same fate. The king gave up on killing it and ordered the baby to be brought before him. The baby was brought before the king on the eve of the new year. As the clock struck 12, the king saw the baby. A little girl with the biggest smile she had. The most beautiful girl in the clouds. The king wished to spoil her. However her mother wouldn't hear of it. This little angel was named Bella.

From that day on, the king gave her everything she could ever want. For her first birthday, she got a diamond rattle. She didn't want it. The king tried to get her interested in it. All he ended up doing was make her cry. Everyone tried in vain to calm her. "What was she looking at before she cried?" Her mother asked. The king showed her the rattle. Her mother left the room and came back with an old rattle. "Bella, is this what you want?" Her mother shook the rattle. Bella started to laugh and reach for it. "Does she hate me?" The king worried. "No, my lord. She just wanted her rattle."  On her second to tenth birthdays, the king gave her thousands of dolls, stuffed animals, and candy. However, she didn't want them so she gave them to other angels.

Once little Bella was 18, the king insisted she marry one of his three sons. No matter how she protested the king and prince's interest. Bella loved watching humans. "If you wish to marry me, go down to earth and find a human that will represent you. If I like the human, I will marry you. If I don't, you can't bother me ever again." The prince's set off. As they did, Bella went to the shrine of love. The eldest prince found a human who was big and strong. The second found a human who was smart and rich. The third found a human who was handsome and witty. All three were sent to the shrine.

The first demonstrated his strength by carrying an uprooted tree. Bella said, "You are strong, I'll give you that. Tell me who is your angel." "Alexander, I was promised a great reward." Bella laughed, "Very well then. If you can pass my riddles, you can have as much gold as you can carry." The man was ready. "I leave for the south in the winter but I migrate alone. My wings make noise with every beat. I even can fly backwards. What am I?" "A bird." "What type?" Bella asked. "The one that flys." "I guess you aren't getting that reward. Be gone!" He left, disappeared. With that the eldest lost.

The second demonstrates his brains by resisting all of Shakespeare's work by heart. Bella became bored after the second play. "You are smart, I'll give you that. Tell me who is your angel." "Noah, my lady." "I see, I have some riddles for you. If you pass them all, I will give you whatever you desire." "I'm always up for a riddle." Bella resisted the first again. "I leave for the south in the winter but I migrate alone. My wings make noise with every beat. I even can fly backwards. What am I?" "A hummingbird." "Correct, next one. I can weigh upto 400+ lbs. I eat meat everyday. I hunt while my spouse protects. What am I?" "A tiger." "Nope, I'm sorry but, no reward for you." He left, furious. With that the second prince lost.

The third brought three women who were all pregnant with his children. Bella asked for the name of his angel. "Maximus." Sighing, she asked him the first riddle. "The answer to everything is love." Bella rubbed her temple and told him to leave. He left, laughing. With that all three prince's lost. Angery, Bella flew up and declared. "The prince's have disappointed me! I will marry the first man to answer all three of my riddles! Be him prince or pauper! Angle or human!" With that Bella went back to the shrine. Angel after angel tried and all failed. Some made it to the third. Others didn't even get the first one right.

One day, a human soldier walked in to seek shelter from the storm. "Human, what brings you here?" Bella asked. "The storm, I will leave once it let's up." Let me help you pass the time. I have three riddles. If you pass them, you may have all you desire." "All I want is a wife." "If you pass my riddles, I will be your wife if you please." With that the soldier sat in front of a statue. "I'm ready." "I leave for the south in the winter but I migrate alone. My wings make a noise with every beat. I even can fly backwards. What am I?" "A hummingbird." "Correct, next one. I can weigh upto 400+ lbs. I eat meat everyday. I hunt while my spouse protects. What am I?" "A lioness."

"Correct, last one. During Christmas time, I sit atop a tree. When you think of me, you think of dove like wings. I make you think of eternal rewards. What am I?" "An angel." Bella smiled as she revealed herself. "Correct, I would love to be your wife. That is if you still want me." The soldier walked over to her. "No one else will do. It must be you." He kissed his bride as the rain let up outside. The two left the shrine, hand in hand. They were married just two weeks later and Bella was happy. Her smile never faded. As she lived and died with her soldier.
