Su Xiqin stared at Bai Yansen and wondered how she could tell him her dream.
However, Su Xiqin saw Bai Yansen's expression and knew that he was waiting for her answer, so she thought for a bit and said, "It's actually about my husband and I."
She never spoke to anyone else about this, but since Bai Yansen insisted, she had to tell him about it.
"My biggest dream was to have two kids with him, but now there's only one, so that dream hasn't been accomplished yet. That's why I designed this semi-necklace."
Su Xiqin briefly told him about it and thought that maybe if she said it this way, it would stop whatever Bai Yansen wanted from her.
"You and your husband are doing good?" Bai Yansen asked very straightforwardly.
Su Xiqin knew that he had seen them quarrel that day of the car accident. If she answered yes, then he would question her honesty; but if she denied it, it may give Bai Yansen the wrong message. Therefore, having thought of Bai Yansen's attitude towards her, Su Xiqin made up her mind.
However, Bai Yansen's smoky voice interrupted her just when she was about to open her mouth and answer.
"There's a sad feeling in your semi-necklace design, so the answer seems quite obvious."
His voice sounded a bit hoarse from the smoke.
Su Xiqin furrowed her brows and stared at him behind the smoke. Meanwhile, Bai Yansen inhaled and blew out another breath of smoke as he continued talking.
"Your semi-necklace design represents your kid, and I can tell that you love him very much. He is the light and hope of your life, right?"
Bai Yansen skipped certain questions and turned his focus towards Mo Jintian. He was correct, and Su Xiqin didn't deny it and nodded her head.
"Yes, my son represents this semi-necklace."
She didn't admit to other things in the questions, and then she saw Bai Yansen pressing his cigarette into the ashtray to extinguish it.
"I look forward to the other half of this necklace then." He sounded like there was a hidden message.
Su Xiqin furrowed her brows as she wondered if he was referring to the other half of the necklace as a future child?
She didn't have the time to think deeper when he spoke again.
"Your design draft passed."
Su Xiqin blanked out. I passed? Then that means my draft passed when he saw it earlier!
Whatever. As long as the design draft passed, she didn't care when it actually happened. She got up and prepared to leave.
"CEO Bai, I will be heading back then since the draft's okay."
Bai Yansen got up as well. "You hit your forehead; go to the hospital first!"
"That's fine, I'll wash it up at home by myself." Su Xiqin didn't want to have any more unnecessary contact with him.
"Half of the blame is on me for your wound, so I should be responsible as well. If you don't want to go, does that mean you want to make me feel like I owe you something?"
Su Xiqin was at a loss for words.
Half an hour later, Bai Yansen's car parked at the city hospital, and they both got off. When Su Xiqin saw the hospital building, her brain suddenly obtained its clarity.
She was a bit upset and wondered why she had listened to him and followed him all the way here?
Su Xiqin still felt a bit shy having thought of how they spent time alone back then, and she tapped her forehead, trying to get rid of it.
"Is your head dizzy?"
A deep voice came from behind her, interrupting her train of thought and her action.
"No," she said as she turned around.
"Then let's go."
His tall figure brushed by her, leaving a masculine scent and a light scent of tobacco that stimulated her sensation.
He had on a navy stripe shirt that was tucked in his black dress pants and had a pair of Italian custom leather shoes on his feet. He paced forward confidently with one of his hands inside his pocket and the other one hung to the side naturally.
His shoulders were broad and wide, making him look like a mountain, yet his body wasn't overly burly as his body proportions fit the golden ratio. He emitted a natural leader charisma as he walked elegantly forward.
She watched his elegant figure in front of her and was puzzled, frowning and hesitating. Then, she clenched her teeth before finally making the decision to follow him.
The two went inside the elevator, and it slowly started to get crowded. Su Xiqin was standing by the door before, but she was pushed to the middle after more of a crowd walked in.
Meanwhile, Bai Yansen had entered the elevator after Su Xiqin, but there were so many people that they immediately took up the space between him and Su Xiqin.
The elevator started to move upwards.
Bai Yansen stood near the door and turned around as he glanced at the person in front of Su Xiqin. That person was shocked by Bai Yansen's sharp stare and strong aura that he moved away subconsciously, making way for him to walk across towards Su Xiqin.
Su Xiqin could feel the people around her moving to two sides because of Bai Yansen.
She wasn't pushed by the crowd anymore, and she looked up at him subconsciously.
It was still his profile that reflected in her eyes, the handsome and sculpted profile of Bai Yansen. Suddenly, Bai Yansen turned his head and stared her in the eyes; she felt like her heart skipped a beat as she got pulled into his deep eyes, making her feel a bit dizzy.
"Dizzy?" he lowered his head a bit and asked her beside her ear. His hoarse yet magnetic voice woke her up, and she raised her head as she stared into his eyes again. His eyes were full of complicated emotions, and she stared at them for a long time before she shook her head rigidly.
The elevator arrived at the destination with a "Ding." Su Xiqin still didn't have her thoughts together yet when something warm landed on her shoulder and radiated across her body; she became dazed as she turned to look at her shoulder and saw that it was Bai Yansen's hand.
She looked up at Bai Yansen and saw that he was focused on moving the crowd away with his other hand as the two of them walked towards the elevator door.
"Excuse me." His deep voice had a kind of magic that made everyone move away to the side, and a little passageway was created in front of them.
He protected her in his arms as they walked towards the door.
To be honest, she felt even more dizzy in his embrace, and her legs felt weak as if she could only support her body on him to walk properly.
Her head was close to his chest, and she could hear his strong heartbeat clearly.
She had no idea how she actually walked out of the elevator.
It was only when they got out of the suppressing elevator and embraced the fresh air, that she felt like she regained her consciousness. Su Xiqin looked up and saw his sculpted jawline. She was about to ask him to let go, but he did that before she even spoke a word.
After the two pulled apart, Bai Yansen paused his steps and turned around as he ran into her confused stare.
"There were too many people, and I was worried that you might get pushed around," Bai Yansen explained his action in his deep voice.
He then tucked one hand into his pants as he stood parallel beside Su Xiqin.
She stared at him for a while and noticed that she still couldn't tell what he was thinking from his eyes, and she couldn't say any harsh words after listening to his explanation.
They stared at each other in silence for a while, and the atmosphere became a bit strange. Someone happened to pass by, and she lowered her head in panic as she fixed her hair and said, "Thanks!"
"Let's go." Having seen her reaction, Bai Yansen curled his lips.
He started to walk ahead, and Su Xiqin could only follow.
