Chapter 27 - The Two Looked Alike

Mo Jintian had never encountered the situation where blood dripped down Su Xiqin's forehead, and he was scared when he called out "Mama" as Su Xiqin fell onto the ground.

He had always called her "Susu," but he was so panicked and worried that this was the first time he called her "Mama."

His little figure hid around a corner after Su Xiqin was sent into the emergency room. He wondered if Su Xiqin would wake up, and if she wouldn't, what was he going to do?

Bai Yansen stopped in front of Mo Jintian and stood there for a few seconds, but Mo Jintian didn't respond at all. Bai Yansen looked up again and saw the lights lit up for the emergency room.

Aside from a middle-aged lady dressed like she was from a wealthy family waiting outside of the emergency room, there were almost no one else in the corridor.

"Who are you waiting for here?"

His voice was deep and sounded mellow within the empty corridor that was quite comforting to hear. Mo Jintian was attracted by this voice as he raised his head, and a teardrop happened to fall out of his clear black eyes without warning the moment he saw Bai Yansen. He quickly lowered his head, perhaps feeling embarrassed, as he wiped his tears away and rubbed his hands onto his pants.

"I'm waiting for Susu," he sobbed.

Bai Yansen had never seen a kid cry before, but when he saw the teardrop on Mo Jintian's panicking face, he felt as if a bee stung his heartstring. He realized that something had happened to Su Xiqin..

"How come you're crying, where is your mom?" he asked

The little guy was so upset that he couldn't speak up and could only point his chubby fingers at the emergency room.

It was as he had expected, and he furrowed his brows as he squatted down to stare straight at Little Milk Bun on his eye level.

"What happened to your mom?"

"There was a lot of blood coming from her head, and she fainted too," Little Milk Bun cried out loudly after he finished speaking, and passersby thought that Bai Yansen had bullied him.

Bai Yansen frowned, not caring what the others were thinking as his tone became a bit stiff and he asked,

"Why did she bleed and faint?"

Little Milk Bun kept on sobbing and couldn't form a proper sentence. Although he looked smart and witty, he had more tears than anyone when it involved Su Xiqin.

Fu Minghe waiting in front of the emergency room got attracted by Mo Jintian's cry, and she quickly walked over when she saw Bai Yansen squatting in front of him.

"Jintian, don't worry. Your mom will be fine, don't cry."

Fu Minghe walked beside Mo Jintian and glanced at Bai Yansen; she was stunned when she saw Bai Yansen.

If she didn't know that Mo Jingtian was part of the Mo Family, she would have mistaken this man as his father because they looked a lot like each other.

"You are?" she asked.

Bai Yansen stood up and nodded to Fu MInghe out of politeness. He didn't answer her question, and Mo Jintian was afraid of her kicking Bai Yansen away, so he sobbed as he explained their relationship.

"This uncle is my friend."

Fu Minghe stared at the two with suspicion in her eyes. Mo Jintian didn't really like this Aunt Grandma, and he wanted her to leave as he wiped his tears.

"I've got something to say to him," he said.

Although Little Milk Bun didn't look at Fu Minghe, she understood the underlying message, and her expression became a bit stiff. However, she still nodded and walked away as she glanced at Bai Yansen. He definitely looks like either a rich or powerful man, especially the aura he emits is noble and cold. How did Jintian meet someone like this?

Could it be Su Xiqin's possible affair! Well, Su Xiqin does live on her own, and the news of Mo Xigu's affairs have been flying around; it's possible that Su Xiqin wants revenge especially since this man looks better than Mo Xigu.

She thought to herself that she must warn Mo Jinghan when she got back.

After Fu Minghe left, Little Milk Bun had stopped crying, and he raised his head at Bai Yansen.

"Uncle, you said my mom will be fine right?" he asked in his childish voice.

"Yes, she will be fine." His slim long fingers patted Mo Jintian's mushroom head.

"En." At that moment, Mo Jintian didn't understand why he trusted Bai Yansen, but he just did.

Bai Yansen didn't speak further as he took out his phone and dialed a number.

"Brother Xing, are you at the hospital?" he asked in his deep voice.

This Brother Xing was one of Bai Yansen's friends; his full name was Xing Chensheng, and he was like Doctor Huatuo in the modern medical circle. (TL Note: a famous chinese doctor during the late eastern Han Dynasty and pre Three Kingdoms. Was known for his surgery and anaesthesia skills among other things.)

"So the situation is that I have a friend who's in the emergency room right now," he explained as he walked to the side.

"I don't know how specifically she was injured, but apparently something hit her head, and she's unconscious now."

"Thank you, Brother Xing."

He hung up and turned around, and he saw Little Milk Bun staring at him with watery eyes.

"Uncle, you have a friend who's a doctor?"

He nodded and walked over to Little Milk Bun. Mo Jintian looked up and asked, "If he comes and treats Susu, will Susu recover soon?"

Bai Yansen found it hard to answer his question, but he nodded when he saw the hope in Little Milk Bun's eyes.

Mo Jintian suddenly wrapped his arms around Bai Yansen's thigh and rubbed his face on his pants like a cat.

"Uncle, nice people will have good fortune in return."

Bai Yansen was at a loss for words.

Xing Chensheng came over quickly and went straight into the emergency room. Su Xiqin was pushed out after half an hour, and Mo Jintian quickly ran over as he called out "Susu," completely forgetting about Bai Yansen beside him.

"Nurse, how's the patient doing?" Fu Minghe asked the female nurse who was pushing out the stretcher.

"Not a big deal; she might experience some light concussion."

A bunch of people followed as the nurse pushed the stretcher away. Bai Yansen stood by the corner and didn't follow the crowd. He walked over only when Xing Chensheng came out of the emergency room.

"Brother Xing, how's her situation?" Bai Yansen asked after Xing Chensheng took off his mask.

"The injury isn't that serious, just a little injury on her forehead and a slight concussion," Xing Chensheng said with a serious expression.

"Are there any possible further complications of that?" Bai Yansen pinched his brows together.

Xing Chensheng supported himself with his arms on the table and said, "The slight concussion could cause dizziness in the future."

Bai Yansen's eyes darkened, and his expression tightened. "Can this dizziness be treated?"

"Yes, but it's a long term process since this dizziness would be caused by loss of blood," Xing Chensheng said as he pushed his glasses on his face.

Bai Yansen's expression loosened up, and he had hope in his eyes as he said, "Brother Xing, you're the expert in this field. Please use the best method and medication for her treatment."

Although looking serious, Xing Chensheng suddenly cracked a smile and joked, "Sen, is this lady your…"

He didn't finish his sentence and grinned, showing his white teeth.

Bai Yansen's sculpted face showed a faint expression, but not much, as he replied, "Just a normal friend."

"A normal friend who makes you this worried; that's a first."

Xing Chensheng laughed as he patted Bai Yansen's shoulder and turned around to leave.

"Thanks, Brother Xing," Bai Yansen said to him behind him.
