"So what'll it be?"
She just looked at him, trying to read him, to no avail. She was a bit curious about his intentions and felt confident that if needed she could fend him off. She did want to get back at Lee.
"I'll go with you, but you have to tell me more about you on the way."
"Alright, you can wait for me at the booth over there."
Several minutes go by and Hina looks around the bar but nothing stands out. It's just an ordinary place. Several more minutes pass and she takes out her phone and checks social media to see that Lee and Renna have already made it official. It hasn't even been a whole day and he's already on to the next. Four years have been thrown away just like that. How can it be so easy? How long has it gone on? So many questions filled her mind, so many feelings flood over her; anger, sadness, frustration, and pain.
She feels less guilty about taking Henley up on his offer since Lee can move on so fast.
Henley was finished up and walking towards the front of the bar and he sees Hina looking at her phone with pain in her eyes. He quietly walks towards her and when he's behind her he slowly lowers his head to her ear and gently asked,
"You read?" with a smirk on his face
Hina startled locks her phone and puts it back away and just quickly nods yes.
When did he get behind me she thought, and how was he so quiet?
They walked out of the bar and headed towards the employee garage where there was a black McLaren 650S.
"How do you have such a nice car!?"
"I worked real hard," Henley said with a sly smile.
How can someone get such a nice car being a bartender?
On Hinas' better judgment, she dozed off after they started to drive away from the bar.
Henley would take slight glances at her and when her hair fell over her face he gently brushed it back behind her ear. She started to move around and he retracted his hand in a mere millisecond. But she remained asleep and he couldn't help but smile to himself. He wants to know more about her. He needs to know more about her.
They hit a bump that woke Hina up. She opened her heavy eyes and seen a black gate and there was a man stationed there.
"Welcome back home young master."
"Glad to be back Finn."
This man, Finn's words made Hina confused and curious. She just thought 'young master?' Maybe it's just because he owns the estate. Maybe?
Finn wasn't tall or short his was about 5'9'' and had a slightly muscular build with dirty blonde hair. He looked like a nice guy. He looked well-kept and clean. He was pretty attractive but not as attractive as Henley.
Hina only saw trees as they drove on a narrow driveway up to the house. It's very secluded which made her a little nervous.
"How long is your driveway? Also where even are we and don't just say your house."
"Not much longer, and we're about an hour out from Sol District. I enjoy the seclusion and the quiet so I decided on a home in the countryside."
Finally, a house came into view, just not any house a beautiful grey house that looked big enough for 3 families. We pulled into the front of the house and Henley ran around the car and opened the door for Hina, which came as a little surprise. But Hina was still speechlessly surprised by the house. This can't be just any ordinary bartender. She needed to find out more about this man. Her curiosity is to its breaking point now.
"Welcome to my home," Henley said as he took Hina into the breathtaking house. When they walked in it wasn't all that decorated, there weren't photos on the wall or anything on the tables which seemed a little odd. The entire house was grey and white on the inside, and the furniture was all black and red; black couch, red chair, black table, red lamp.
"Sorry it's not all that, I like plain colors."
"No, no it's fine I was just wondering why there weren't any photos or anything."
"Oh, there's no special reason, I just don't have any photos to hang up."
"No photos of your family?"
"Nope."
For some reason this made Hina a little sad, how could there not be and photos of and with family? Does he not have one?
"Well you make yourself at home and I'll go run some hot water for you."
"Oh, I don't have any clothes to change into though.."
That only made Henley smile mischievously and said, "It's okay I have something you can wear."
Henley walked off and got the water ready and Hina was just looking around and found herself in the kitchen. She saw he had a few mugs on a mug rack and she decided to grab one to make a cup of coffee.
"He did say make yourself at home," she said as she slightly laughed to herself. Henley walked down and seen her pouring the coffee into a mug and he just leaned against the door frame and smile as he watched this woman nonchalantly use his kitchen.
"Miss Hina your bath awaits." Henley reached his hand out like he'd be taking a princess's hand. Which made Hina smile and she said, "Why thank you, sir, lead the way."
She took his hand and he took her upstairs and opened a door that leads to the bathroom and the bathroom had marble countertops and marble floor, it was a beautiful bathroom.
"Why thank you, sir," Hina said with a curtsy.
"The clothes for you are on the counter and I'll be in the kitchen making something to eat are you hungry?"
"Yeah, a little," Hina said sounding like a child which only made Henley chuckle softly.
"Alright come down when you're done."
Hina closed the door and locked it, wouldn't want sir Henley to get the wrong idea she thought with a playful smile on her face. To her surprise, she's really happy about all that's happened. For some reason, she can't help to be happy even though she's at Henleys who is pretty much a stranger. She doesn't even know his age and he doesn't know hers.
"Maybe I can convince him to play a game to get to know him more," she said to herself as she undressed. She removed her black mid-thigh pencil skirt and laid it on the clothes rack by the door. She unbuttoned her white long sleeve and laid it down gently. She looked into the mirror for a second and looked at the scar that starts on her side and goes up on her back. She covers what she can see with her hand and looks up at the mirror and sees she has tears slowly making their way down her cheek. She can't remember how she got the scar, she was in an accident when she was 14 and she lost all her almost all of her memories from before the incident. She regains bits and pieces of her memories but can't piece them altogether yet.
In the incident, Hina lost her mother who was driving. After that, it was just Hina and her father. They didn't have much but they had each other.
Hina gets in the bath and washes her hair and soaks for a minute and thinks. She thinks of how she got to where she is. How she could be fooled for so long. Why did she have to be the fool? What did she do to deserve this much pain?
Hina decides to hurry and finish her bath before her mind goes to a very dark place. She gets out dries off and walks over to the counter and see's the clothes Henley left. It was just a long-sleeved white button-up shirt, but it was his shirt. She had no other option so she put it on and it was too big, the sleeves covered her hands but it was comfortable, and smelled good.
She made her way down the stairs to the kitchen and see's Henley cooking what looks like to be an omelet. Henley hears her walk in and when he turns around he smiled and had to avert his eyes and cover his face a little bit because she looked so much cuter than he expected and his face was turning red.
"Thanks for the shirt"
"It looks good on you, maybe even better," Henley said with a smirk on his face before turning around and plating their food.
His statement only made Hina blush and her heart felt like it started beating faster.
They sat a decently long table and ate in silence for a moment before Hina told Henley her idea of them playing a game to get to know each other.
"Alright what game we'll play once we finish eating, how does that sound?" He almost sounds like he was talking to a child.
"Hmph fine."
They both ate in quiet secretly looking at each other when the other one wasn't looking.
"I'll clean the plates, my father always said the one who cooks doesn't do the cleanup."
"Alright." Henley was a little surprised that she said she'd do the clean up so all he could say back was alright.
After everything was cleaned up they headed to the living room and sat on the couch facing each other.
"Alright, Miss Hina what game do you want to play?"
Hina smiled as she thought of two games perfect for getting to know about each other some more.
"Hmm.. we could play 20 questions or truth or dare, so we can embarrass each other for fun and instead of asking is it true that... we can just ask questions."
Henley laughed and decided truth or dare, he thought that this could be interesting.
"Alright, truth or dare Henley?"
"Truth." He thought he'd start with truth who knows what this interesting girl might have up her sleeve.
"Alright hmm.. how old are you? Even though I should've asked sooner"
"I'm 23, how about you?"
"I'm 22"
Henley started to smile since it's his turn to ask her.
"Truth or dare?"
Hina thought about her decision for a moment and then she decided.
"I choose dare."
