She paced back and forth slowly in her room as she trying to knit her life as Maia Gremoire. As she tried to get information from her handmaidens as well collecting memories bit by bit, she draws a conclusion.
Duke Czarrino Xenon was her husband. It was their wedding day yesterday as Maia tried to elope with the crown prince. Maia was a tool for getting that royal decree of which can bring advantage to whose hand it fell. Jane was just like Maia as Hugo used him to acquire her inheritance left from her grandparents. She still trembled as she recalled that even her own parents were involved in her death. They were probably rejoicing in her demise and currently celebrating her fortune.
Since she woke up in different realm, she must pull herself together. In this life, she will survive. She will not permit that she will be killed, again.
She was a best selling novelist. She somehow need to have detailed plans on planning to run her second life. Her husband, Maia's husband somehow try to toy her with his remorse towards the crown prince. There is a possibility though she was his duchess, she will be discarded the soonest. Jane doesn't need to wait before that happened. She was from the future, this era is patriachal that somehow control woman. She must have a child to become an heir to get favored, she assumed. Knowing the Duke's temperament, he must probably used her to quench his frustrations on their union.
How about if she escapes to this manor? She should start somewhere with her second life. Yet knowing how the Duke could learn her planned escape, it will somehow ending in wringing her neck.
She opened the draperies and look outside. There were filled carriages come to and fro. The manor must be busy due to her marriage with the Duke.
She carefully planted her step on the ground as she tried to ease her weak legs recalling the torment earlier. She placed her trembling hands in her chest as it throbbed painfully. She suddenly grew dizzy as she tried to grab the nearest door to ask for help. Her lips can't even utter a word as she hardly catch her breath.
She just knew she consumed her breakfast and she wondered if she ate something trivial.
She cried in silence as attempt to open the door. It will be her end, she wondered confirming herself that she was surely poisoned. She was holding on to her last hope as she tried to open the door. It was also at the same time that the door flung open in great force when the duke enters the room. He found her collapsed on the floor as she hold her chest in pain. She even vomit blood that stained her dress.
"Help me!" Jane reach her hands towards the figure she seen. She was poisoned. Someone should help her.
Duke Czarrino stood there and watched her suffer. This wretched! She tried to poison herself.
Her faint breath lead her to her final conclusion, she will still face her death.
"How unfortunate," she mumbled as if no one listened to her. "I will still die for the second time."
The duke who witnessed her dying quickly carried her off to her feet and yelled at his servants. He held his dying wife as poison entered her system.
"Prepare the carriage at once!"
He runs to the carriage and order the coachman to drove it fast.
"The moment my wife died here, I will personally bury you in this carriage!"
The coachman almost wanted to fly the carriage in his fear while tighten his grip on the reign. The duke stroke her trembling body which lead him to panicked as he saw her eyes dilated and her breathing became slower as her death awaits her.
" Don't you die in my hands! Don't you dare! "
He whispered in her ears.
"You still owe something from me."
Jane surely heard them, she raises her shaking hands and place it in to duke's face. He held them in his face, felt her cold hands.
She smiled at Czarrino. At least she heard him saying those words she wanted to hear.
"If I perish, I perish, if I live, I will serve you wholeheartedly." she said yet like a whisper in his worrisome.
Her death is approaching. It was the attention of heaven only could help her.
No one could even care if she die or not.
