No matter how calm Serenity tried to be, she couldn't stop her cheeks from turning red at their words. The rest of the room looked on in silence before bursting into laughter.
Gabriel's eyes narrowed slightly as he looked up at her with a gaze as cold as a sharp blade.
Serenity's gaze met his and her heart suddenly skipped a beat. The heat on her face quickly faded, and even her hands and feet gradually turned cold.
Calvin glanced at Gabriel and smiled. "I've been busy these days and neglected her. She threw a tantrum at me just now and so it took me a while to coax her."
As soon as he said this, everyone laughed. One of them said, "Women are meant to be coaxed. Ms. Serenity looks gentle and quiet but that doesn't mean her patience is boundless."
Gabriel's eyes darkened and a layer of frost appeared on his face as he lit a cigarette nonchalantly.
Serenity slowly returned to her seat and took a sip of water to hide her embarrassment.
