It had been three years but this question had always lingered in her mind. She had wanted to ask for a long time, but who could she ask?
Calvin Gilbert did not expect her to ask this question and almost spat out his tea, choking on it. After a while, he said, "You should ask him. How would I know?"
She did once, but he spat his answer so viciously like a whip: "Obviously it's because I like her. Why else would I marry her?"
She was hurt so badly by his response that she almost lost all sense of reason.
They were still dating then. But he claimed to like Selena to the point of marrying her, then what did that make Serenity? Who was she to him then?
Calvin Gilbert looked at her pale face, watching as the blood on her lips slowly fade away. He could no longer bear to see her like this so he said, "It's been three years. Why are you still hung up about it? What good will it do anyway once you find out the reason?"
He was right. What was the point?
