Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4 WAKE UP (2)

How was I here? In this interrogation room at the police station. I remember a lady clearing me from the hospital, Alethea talking about the people we recused, and suddenly two police officers showed up in front of me. Now I was sitting across a police officer with a badge clearly shown, while the detective with casual clothes leaned on the wall.

"What you did out there was brave," the officer said. "We were investigating that place for suspicion of illegal drug use and experiments on its patients."

Why was he telling me this? I thought investigations like this were supposed to be top secret

"That place should have been locked down, so what I'm trying to say is--"

"You trespassed private property!" The detective yelled, he walked my way and slammed his hands on the table, he had a face like thunder "do you think we're going to let you go because you saved two lives?!"

"Private prop…" I didn't even finish my sentence as I popped the "p."

I thought my eyebrows were sky high as my eyes bugged out, instead of being praised for saving two lives I'm what? Scolded? I lowered my face, and took a deep breath, getting mad isn't going to help...but neither is staying quiet.

"Private property," I scoffed, I stood up slamming my hands on the table surprising both the detective and the officer, "that's a mental asylum! How the hell is visiting a family member a crime for 'trespassing?'" I yelled pointing in the direction of the place.

Huffing I slammed back down to my chair and shook my head. The police were always useless in stuff like this. Maybe I can try to bare with this before I lose my… nope.

"Ugh, I'm leaving," I announced as I stood up, I reached over to their side of the table, "and I'm taking this with me."

"This isn't over until I say it is!" the detective yelled.

I waved with the hand that had my medical collar without looking back as I exited the room, looking around me, it all felt familiar. If only I hadn't had to come here for the longest of times. Walking out of the station, the light was no longer in the sky. Clouds had covered the only source of comfort in this world, and the cold wind had just blown by. The clouds, along with the wind, began to cry. The sound echoed in the alley next to the station, making this day even worse than it already was. Whatever time it was, it was late, Keiichi had probably been worried all day.

Better head home

I patted the pocket where my phone was supposed to be, it was gone. My heart stopped, what...they took it, I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. Well a new problem surfaces. I put the medical collar around my neck, one more second without it and hell would break loose. Hearing the little voice of the AI, I sighed with relief. That's when I noticed the well-dressed lady with a microphone talking into the camera. She kept pointing back to the station, and when she briefly glanced back, she saw me. Her eyes shone, before her face became greedy like she was about to snatch the last pizza in the box.

I hate that, look despite doing it myself often

She walked closer to me, waving her hand at the camera to follow. While walking she kept talking, and what made me assume that she was talking about the incident at the asylum was the fact that she pointed at me while saying "suspect".

"We are here today with the just-released Tousuki Norigani," her body was facing me but she was looking at the camera, "are you the Tousuki Norigani?" she finally faced me.

The microphone was pushed onto my face, and the lights suddenly flashed my way. The camera then came from her face onto mine, all the attention was one me, great. I looked at the sky and remembered it was late, how long had I been at the station?

"What time is it?" I asked.

"It's currently 8:30 PM, now I have answered your question, you answer mine. Are you the heir next in line for the CEO position in the NoriGani Company?"

"Yes," I said walking away.

She quickly bombarded me with new questions, when suddenly one of her questions caught my attention. I stood quiet, I could hear her talk into the camera again, she then walked closer to me as did her cameraman and the man holding the light. She smiled before asking me the question once again.

"What are you planning to do with the fact that CEO Philip Willias has rumored you have a brother in the drug dealing business such as the mafia? There have been many rumors about--"

"Look lady," I paused and took a deep breath, "talk about me, the business, whatever else you want, but say a word about my brother--"

"Are you admitting the fact that your father, Tousuke Norigani, had an affair, and the pregnancy scandal so many years ago was not just a rumor? Do you have a bro--"

That's the last straw

Right as I opened my mouth, the loud screeching of tires had interrupted me. A 1962 black corvette, stopped beside the Channel 9 news van, my eyes grew dull as I saw the driver. Someone tugged on my shirt, I looked back to see Alethea, she then began to pull me to the car. The lady began to follow us with more questions.

"Shut up!" I snapped, oh no, I shouldn't yell; I cleared my throat, took a deep breath and calmed down. "Yes, I have a younger twin brother, yes I am the next in line for the CEO position. CEO WIllias, if you are watching this, how the hell did you get the idea about the mafia? They say those who are suspicious, are suspicious because they have done what they are suspicious for. Basically, where did you get that idea? Could it be that… you have a mafia?"

With that I jumped into the car and left the reporter hanging. Seeing Alethea had also gotten in I sighed with relief.

"Keiichi—"

"Is at the main house, waiting for you."

"Don't ever interrupt me," I said with a scowl.

"Yes, boss."

l looked at my driver, he looked at me, and my eyes gave him confirmation. We drove "home".

Running wasn't enough, we needed to be faster, there wasn't much time, at least according to Alethea. If we don't get there, it'll be too late, my mind was still racing as I tried to process the information just given. We aren't the only ones… here.
