Chapter 3 - Who Are You

After the bullet was removed, there was still blood everywhere. Luo Ziling took a clean towel and carefully wiped off all the dirt from the injured woman.

The injured woman's forehead was covered in sweat and various other filth. Luo Ziling took another wet towel, washed her face for her, and took the opportunity to give her body a good wipe down before covering her with a blanket.

After doing all this, Luo Ziling was once again drenched in sweat.

He ran to the backyard and took a shower with the cool water collected from the mountain, which made him feel a bit more comfortable.

But the restlessness in his body persisted, the prominent bulge making him very uncomfortable.

The sky had cleared up again, and it was six o'clock in the afternoon. In the northwest, the evenings came late, and at six o'clock, the sun was still high in the sky.

Luo Ziling washed all his clothes, as well as the clothes the injured woman had taken off, and hung them in the yard.

On the clothesline in the yard, women's clothes appeared for the first time, even including women's underwear. Luo Ziling found it very strange no matter how he looked at it.

Fortunately, no one came to visit, otherwise it would have been impossible to explain.

After returning to the house, Luo Ziling started to cook.

Although the nights in the northwest came late, Luo Ziling and his grandfather usually had dinner around six or seven o'clock.

His grandfather had gone out to treat someone, so he ate dinner alone at this time.

Today, he had to cook not only his own dinner but also something nice for the injured woman.

Treating the injured woman had taken a lot of his strength, but fortunately, Luo Ziling had been practicing martial arts with his highly skilled grandfather since he was young, and his body was very strong. Plus, being young, he felt fine after a little rest.

While cooking, he kept thinking about things related to this woman.

What was this woman's identity? How did she get injured? Who had hurt her? Did she have any companions? Would saving her bring trouble to himself and his grandfather?

He wasn't afraid of trouble for himself, but he was most afraid of causing trouble for his grandfather.

Luo Ziling had depended on his grandfather since he was a child. It could be said that his grandfather, Luo Liansheng, had raised him.

He had never seen his own father and mother. Since he could remember, he had lived with his grandfather.

Seeing other people with loving parents, he had once curiously asked his grandfather where his own parents were.

Had he never seen them because they were dead?

Every time he asked this question, his grandfather would just sigh softly and not tell him anything.

Once, after his grandfather had drunk too much, he told him that his parents were alive, just temporarily unable to come to see him.

What children crave most is the love and care of their parents, and Luo Ziling was no different.

When he was younger, he constantly thought about his parents, hoping that one day when he returned home with his grandfather from gathering herbs, he would see a man and a woman in the house. They would cry out and rush towards him, pulling him into their arms, telling him that they were his parents, that they wouldn't leave again, and that they would always be with him, bringing him lots of food, clothes, fun, and strange and wonderful things.

If such a situation occurred, Luo Ziling thought, he would definitely act reserved at first, righteously scolding them for not coming to see him, then crying in their arms, demanding they make up for the love they owed him, and only forgiving them after they wiped away their tears and agreed.

Unfortunately, until he turned twenty, such a thing had never happened.

Luo Ziling no longer asked about his parents, pretending they were dead, and considered his grandfather his only family.

His grandfather was very learned, skilled in both literature and martial arts. His martial arts were quite impressive, and he knew everything about astronomy and geography, and he also played the flute beautifully.

But his most impressive skill was his medical expertise.

According to others, as long as the patient was still breathing, no matter how severe the illness, Old Master Luo could work miracles and save them.

His grandfather had a warm heart and considered treating and saving people his life's work. When Luo Ziling was young, he often followed his grandfather around the south and north practicing medicine. Although this small village was very remote, every year people would come to visit Old Master Luo to thank him for his great kindness.

Luo Ziling had never been to school, but he was not illiterate. His grandfather had taught him to read and write from a young age. He knew as much about astronomy and geography as his grandfather, and his knowledge was no less than that of students in school. Moreover, he had inherited his grandfather's medical skills.

One could say that in Luo Ziling's eyes, his grandfather was his everything, embodying both the roles of father and mother.

His grandfather loved him very much, and he loved his grandfather too. Even if he himself suffered a great loss, he wouldn't want anything to happen to his grandfather.

If today's incident caused trouble for his grandfather, he would feel guilty to death.

Lost in thought, Luo Ziling finished cooking dinner for the two of them.

He ate white rice himself and cooked a pot of porridge for the woman, adding some minced meat to it.

While cooking dinner, he also brewed medicine for the injured woman.

After Luo Ziling finished his dinner, the woman was still in a deep sleep and had not woken up.

Touching her forehead, it was a bit hot, but this was within Luo Ziling's expectations.

Night soon fell, and it was already eleven o'clock.

At this time, Luo Ziling would usually prepare to wash up and go to bed.

But because there was an injured woman in the house, Luo Ziling didn't go to sleep right away. Instead, he kept the light on and sat beside her, reading a book.

Although the small mountain village was remote, it had electricity. Nearby, there was a small photovoltaic power plant, a benefit that Luo Ziling's grandfather had secured for the villagers ten years ago. Before the construction of the photovoltaic power plant, this village of only a dozen households had no electricity.

There was also a TV in the house, with a satellite receiver outside, which was Luo Ziling's main channel for understanding the outside world. Normally, he would watch TV before going to bed, but today, fearing it would disturb the injured woman, he didn't turn on the TV.

Around twelve o'clock, after several hours of deep sleep, the woman finally stirred.

After moving her body and pausing for a while, she suddenly opened her eyes and sat up very agilely, startling Luo Ziling.

"Ouch!" When she sat up, she probably pulled at her wound, and after a painful cry, her body collapsed back down.

Luo Ziling quickly threw down the book in his hand and ran over to help her.

"You've been seriously injured, don't move around. If the wound opens up again, it will have to be treated all over," Luo Ziling said in a fluster as he re-covered the woman with the blanket and warned in a low voice, "Lie down for a while longer, regain some strength, and I'll feed you something in a bit."

When the woman sat up, the blanket covering her slid down, revealing her chest and the injured area to Luo Ziling, and he could only cover her up again.

Although the woman collapsed back down in pain, she didn't pass out again. Instead, she looked at Luo Ziling with fierce eyes.

If looks could kill, Luo Ziling would have died dozens of times by now.

The woman's right hand fumbled around beside her, but she didn't find anything.

"Who are you?" A light but clearly unfriendly voice popped out of the woman's mouth.

The woman's eyes were very big, and although they lacked luster due to her injury, Luo Ziling still felt the beauty that hit him.

His premonition was right; this woman was really beautiful, even more so than he had imagined.

After seeing the woman's beauty, Luo Ziling thought back to a few hours earlier when he had seen her body while treating her wounds---just a moment ago, he had seen such a beautiful woman's body completely.

"What is this place? Who are you?" Seeing that Luo Ziling didn't answer, an even more unfriendly voice came.
