In Dong Lin's office, the lights remained on until late into the night.
"District Mayor, this is a troublesome matter," Secretary Xu spoke bluntly. He had followed Dong Lin for many years and knew all too well that Tianhai City was merely a stepping stone for Dong Lin.
But now, that stepping stone had developed cracks; one wrong step could lead to a fall.
For him, if Dong Lin climbed up, so would he, sharing in both glory and loss.
"Whether it's troublesome or not, the affairs of the people are our affairs, and no matter how difficult, they must be resolved!" Dong Lin looked at the report in his hand and lightly patted the table.
The task assigned from above was so daunting; it was clearly meant to be the end of him.
But what worried him more was the task itself.
