The elves' banquet is very different from that of humans.
Human banquets are usually very lively, more akin to some kind of carnival. In contrast, the elves' festival is filled with a "petite bourgeoisie sentiment," without large meats or heavy drinking. It's more like a small self-service feast—soon after Fang Zheng and the others arrived, the elves began their banquet.
Of course, even though it's called a banquet, it was mainly about the Elf Captain expressing gratitude to Fang Zheng and the others for rescuing their kin from the threat of evil. After which, all the elves sang a song for them, and then everyone was free to do as they pleased, like at a buffet.
The elves' "buffet," naturally, did not contain large meats but consisted mostly of fruits, desserts, and fine wines brewed by the elves themselves. For Fang Zheng, this also had a unique charm.
