Rokuro walked out of the mansion as slowly as he could. It wasn't like he was tired, but because he was tired and exhausted on the inside. The last few days had been overwhelming for him. He walked, but he had no intention of doing so. He wanted to lay down and rest, right there.
"I'm proud of you, my son. You did well, very well. You exceeded my expectations. You handled the situation very well." Kono's voice said.
"Really? You think so?" Rokuro said.
"Definitely. You avenged your parents, us, and came out clean. You let them both be consumed by their sins and actions. What could be better than that?"
"The moment you said that I shouldn't be a criminal that they want me to be, I realized what I needed to do, and how I needed to do it."
"We're both proud of you son, very proud." Shiko's voice said.
"What? Mummy? You're here as well?" Rokuro said, elated.
His vision began to fade and the surroundings began to change into a bright white light. He turned around to check, but he found the same in all directions. It was just this bright white light that he could see, up above, down, on the sides, everywhere as if he was suspended in space except that it was a bright space instead of dark.
In the distance, he saw two silhouettes walking towards him. Surprisingly, even though they seemed to be walking slowly, they reached him very quickly.
"Mummy! Papa!" Rokuro ran towards as soon as he realized they were his parents. He was finally able to hug them, although with teary eyes.
"Oh, my son. Now is not the time to cry. It's time to make joy, to smile. You've done what thousands of other families and parents would have wanted to do, but couldn't. You not only avenged us, but you avenged thousands of other parents like us who were killed by those evil brothers." Kono said, taking his son into his arms.
"Don't cry, my son. You shouldn't worry about what you lost, or what scares you. You should rather focus on what you've gained, and what you can do. Stay assured that we're always with you, ready to help you whenever you need it." Shiko said.
With teary eyes, Shiko kissed her son on the forehead who himself was in tears.
"You told me not to cry." Rokuro said.
"Oh yes, I seemed to have forgotten about it. I apologize. No crying." Shiko said, smiling.
"Remember, be brave like you always have and things will work out for you." Kono said, patting Rokuro's back.
The bright light began to fade away slowly and the silhouettes of his parents began to dissolve as well. Though he was sad to watch his parents leave, he was happy that they were there for him if and when he'd need them.
Rokuro wiped his tears when he was back to reality and realized he had been standing in the grass garden outside of the mansion and people walking on the road were looking at him. He shook him out of his trance and headed out of the area. He used a public phone to call his friends and asked them to meet at the old factory where he was last evening.
Rokuro explained everything to both Kairi and Miyuki, who were just as proud of him as his parents were. Together, they arranged for his mother's body to be taken to the cemetery, and with the help of the local priest they bid their goodbyes to Shiko, and Rokuro promised to be a good person, a happy person, and a better person.
"I love you, Mummy. I always will." Rokuro said and they began to walk out.
