"SPREAD OUT!" Yell Elizabeth to bring her men out from the daze. She directs them to spread to minimize casualties.
Elizabeth's face looks grim as she peers up at the Ogre that stands ten meters tall with a tree equip on its right hand. At once she knows by heart that either they die trying or survive by running. As she makes eye contact with the Ogre, it snickers while immediately throwing the tree that it is holding at her.
Elizabeth trembles in shock upon seeing the tree flying at her in full speed, fortunately, her instincts kick in and she manages to dodge moments before the tree passes over her body. She appears to be confused while glancing at the previous spot that she is in. Hearing sounds of groans, she decides to deliberately turn towards the aftermath after the tree got thrown.
Elizabeth frown after spotting three of her men got hit. Two of them are lying down without any response while one is screaming for help as he is currently being pinned down by the tree. It is not a surprise if the two of her men are dead, imagine being hit by a one-ton object flying at high speed. They are lucky enough not to have their bodies splattered all across the ground.
"AHHH, AHHH, AARGGHHHHH!!"
Screaming in terror three of Elizabeth's best scouts flee instead of helping the man that was pinned down. Upon glancing back to the Ogre, it appears to be taking its time to grab the nearest tree. A sudden fear struck her, she needs to get close to limit the damage that the Ogre can deal from range.
The Ogre didn't mind its surrounding while it pulls a ten meters tree out from the ground. The ground shakes and breaks apart, creaking noises can be heard miles away gaining attention from everyone.
Elizabeth's men's loyalty starts to waver as they freeze on the spot while looking at the horror scene before them. In a desperate attempt to not lose hope, Elizabeth manages to get a hit by slashing the left shin of the Ogre after jumping to the best of her abilities.
Elizabeth rolls over as soon as she touches the ground. The Ogre growls loud as it cries in pain. It unconsciously let go of the tree after feeling the pain and glares at the small being that dares to hurt it. Meanwhile, Elizabeth confirms subconsciously that somehow or another, her strength, dexterity, and stamina have increased drastically, possibly intelligence too. It comes as a surprise and doubts initially that she can dodge the tree that is flying towards her at great speed.
'I can do this.'
Unfortunately, her heart wavers as the Ogre's eyes turn red in anger. The Ogre grabs the tree and starts creating a sweeping motion using the tree as the broom. Clouds of dust start to form causing everyone's vision to be blocked.
"Everyone stay low!"
Elizabeth's biggest worry turns out to be true as the ogre is not an ordinary one and it posses intelligence of its own. She immediately bends down to stay low as much as possible.
"Arghhh!!! H-Help!!"
Scream of help can be heard from afar. As the cloud of dust calm down. Elizabeth could catch a glimpse of one of her scouts that is clutch by the ogre. Before anyone could make a move, the ogre squeezes its hand causing a disturbing sound to be heard.
Everyone's face change to horror as they see their companion get squeeze dry. Crackling and snapping of bones following up with a burst sound when the blood of the man splashes out from his body. The Ogre then simply releases the man.
The Ogre resumes making the cloud of dust once again. Allowing him to get the advantage while it finds its next victim. Elizabeth knows the distance between her and the enemy and she can estimate its next movement but before she could get close the Ogre dashes towards its next victim, seconds later, She hears another cry for help before the crackling sound disturbs her thoughts.
The Ogre laugh hysterically while turning his head towards Elizabeth. It finishes with a roar and runs up to her.
Elizabeth smiles bitterly and charges towards the Ogre. She jumps hoping to get a fatal strike, she manages to stab the Ogre's palm before getting slap by the other hand. Like a ragdoll, Elizabeth flew away hitting trees along the way.
*Cough blood*
Elizabeth turns to look at the gauntlet that had protected her but it is of no use anymore. While taking out the gauntlet, it breaks apart, she tries to find her sword but it was lost after she got hit by the Ogre. Her view suddenly darkens and realizes that someone is behind her.
"Great, you are still alive. *Huff* *Huff*."
Ryze bends to his knees and touches Elizabeth's shoulders. Immediately a golden light slowly envelopes Elizabeth's body. Gushes of magic powers fill Elizabeth and as if she did not get hurt, her injuries are healed.
Elizabeth's body screams of joy as she feels stronger than ever before. Realization strikes her when she looks at Ryze.
'Why did they send such high-rank personnel to take care of me?'
"I am very grateful for helping me out, sir priest. Now I feel like I can do something to that enemy."
"This is never enough, fortunately, for now, reinforcement has arrived."
While Ryze is healing Elizabeth, the rest of the troops has arrived and ready for battle.
"READY THE ARCHERS! READY! SHOOT!"
One of the captains takes charge as the second in command. As the barrage of arrows flies to the sky, the troops also see another barrage of arrows follow suit.
The captain glances and makes eye contact with the people on the other side. The man on the other side have an indifferent expression but nod nevertheless.
Everyone's expression darkens after seeing all of the arrows did not pierce the tough skin of the Ogre. The Ogre instead got annoyed and run towards one of the mercenary battalions. In an instant, hundreds of men got killed. Either they get kicked or get stepped on.
It doesn't take a minute before 3,000 men got killed. Ryze knows that whether they win or lose will solely depend on Elizabeth. Unfortunately, Ryze does not have an additional experience card to use to make her stronger. Looking at the overall status on the heads-up display that Ryze is seeing, the percentage of winning is only 40%.
The morale of the soldiers drops to an all-time low, as it didn't take long before 15,000 mercenary troops started fleeing for their lives. It is not surprising, with gears that don't exactly damage the enemy before you, what else can you do but run?
Ryze passes a bladed weapon to Elizabeth while Elizabeth subconsciously grabs the weapon without saying anything, her eyes still glued to the battlefield. She's trying her best to find a way to overcome the odds.
Time is running out, the moment the Ogre is unable to have its fun rampaging, it will move to this side.
"ROAAAAAAAAAHHHH" The Ogre roar in pain.
Ryze is surprised that out of the 15,000, there is someone able to deal damage to the enemy.
"We may have a shot at this" Ryze glance towards Elizabeth.
"Find the person that can hurt the enemy and work together to bring the enemy down to its knees." Ryze mutters softly as he slowly realizes that by standing near the general he is attracting too much attention.
"You do not have to say twice, where are you going? Oh..." As Elizabeth turns her head back to the battlefield she manages to catch a glimpse of the man shooting an arrow which pierces the tough skin of the Ogre.
Elizabeth is about to move in to save the man but stops herself when she seeing a barrage of arrows going towards the Ogre but at the same time hitting the mercenaries.
"What the hell are you doing!? You're killing the people that are trying to help us!" Ryze yells at the captain that orders his troops to launch their arrows.
In mere seconds, more mercenaries fall in battle but this time it is due to the arrows. The man that can deal damage to the Ogre glares towards the kingdom troops and yell for his people to run to the kingdom troops instead. The Ogre roar in anger but after seeing there are more troops on the other side, it laughs and slowly follows as if it is playing with its prey.
The captain trembles in angry and shout for his men to ready up their bows but before he can yell 'shoot', he got punch so hard that his head got launch out from his body, together with parts of his spine. The captain's blood splatter all around the troops. The troops under the captain's command tremble in fear. They did not expect the general would mercilessly execute the captain for failure to cooperate.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth is in confusion as she wasn't expecting the outcome to be that deadly. She just wanted to punch the captain so that he could get ahold of himself, but now that the captain is dead she ignore his existence and proceed to take command.
"EVERYONE LISTEN UP! UNLOAD EVERYTHING THAT YOU HAVE AND SPREAD OUT! I DON'T CARE EVEN IF YOU NEED TO BE NAKED, SURVIVE!" Elizabeth yells at the top of her voice.
The troops without hesitant throw their weapon down and strip the armors that are weighing them down, and immediately spread out so that the Ogre is unable to kill a lot of troops at once. Just in time when the mercenaries reach and join up with the kingdom troops, Elizabeth runs up to the man and gives him an inviting nod by tilting her head.
As if the two of them understand each other, the man nods and immediately takes off by running to the other side. Elizabeth proceeds to grab another one-handed sword and rush straight towards the Ogre.
The Ogre ignores the man and Elizabeth and rushes towards the massive troops. No matter how much the troops fear the Ogre, they play their role and get the Ogre to not get far from their generals. The troops swallow their fears and force themselves only to keep track of the Ogre and their general. Ignoring any screams or cries for help even if they recognize them.
Some try to help but they didn't last long. The Ogre seems to target these men and laugh at their stupidity.
Only after a few hundred of the troops got killed that Elizabeth is near the Ogre enough for her to stab the one-handed sword in the Ogre's ankle as she runs while using two hands she imbued her strength before slashing the other ankle.
The Ogre didn't expect the sudden pain and in revenge slams its fist towards the ground. The ground greatly trembles and causes everyone to fall. The shockwave generated hugely affects Elizabeth. She got hit and travel at least 50 meters away. Not surprisingly all of the troops near the Ogre die, unlike Elizabeth their body becomes a rag doll and flew much further away.
At that very moment, an arrow flew and land on the back of the Ogre. The Ogre groans and glares at the man. The Ogre stands and rushes towards the man.
"Damn it" The man cuss as he starts running for his life.
Consciousness flows back to Elizabeth after continuous earth shakes due to the Ogre going after the man. She realizes that she is unable to feel her left arm. Spitting out blood in her mouth and grabs a sword nearby with her right hand she charges back to the Ogre.
Ryze watches from the far back, slightly shaking his head.
"Is this the end? Do we have any hope of winning? What kind of God am I" Ryze continues to scroll his item inventory but he knows that it is a false hope.
