The clickity-clack of mechanical keyboards filled the dark room, the only light coming from the small workstation at the front of the internet café. Every now and then, the worker would look through the glass door into the café proper, checking on customers. On his own screen was a university paper he was working on in between checking times for computers, as well as bringing drink requests at the customers' requests.
He sighed as his computer beeped, signaling another request for coffee. He checked the terminal, then got to work.
Five minutes later, he brought a steaming cup of coffee over to terminal seventeen, where a woman was furiously typing. The worker smiled has he handed over the cup, internally frowning as he watched the woman.
