The room was dark, the sun dipping slowly below the cityscape behind me. My table cast long shadows across the room, the automatic lights not yet triggering, basking me in half-darkness.
I frowned, staring at the screen. It couldn't be. There was no way.
I had to check one more time.
First, the superhero storyline. As expected, they were moving the way I expected; with Tarik keeping his little meeting with Micheal from Gadiel. They wouldn't find anything in the house, but Tarik would have everything he needed to find Micheal again, if he had been paying attention.
Of course, he'd be able to piece things together quicker if he was working together with Gadiel, but that wasn't the kind of person Tarik was. Not yet anyway. Given his past, if he kept going, he would probably end up dying before reaching out to anyone for help.
Given what I had seen, that was probably what was going to happen.
