When the two heard the go signal they stepped together. Maena immediately fired arrows with her trusted weapon. Five arrows flew quickly towards Sonya's whereabouts. On the other hand, vortices appeared in the air as Sonya waved the one-meter-and-a-half stick she was holding. The position of the vortices is in the very path of the arrows.
Thus, when the arrows hit the vortices, the arrows disappeared like bubbles. The vortices also disappeared along with the arrows. But, the next moment, the vortices reappeared in the air, slightly above where Maena was.

Maena's mind screamed when she noticed it above her vision. Her eyes narrowed and her plan to follow up her attack was forgotten. Her sense of danger rang when she saw them. She immediately jumped into the air. It was an acrobatic move. Her body spun in the air. Right after Maena jumped away, something came out of those vortices.
