He even had a hard time dealing with the rank -D Pale toad, what's more, a rank C monster which was much stronger than the rank -D.
Nonetheless, he had to participate as well. It's fine if he couldn't do a thing about the monsters. He just wanted to test his self-control when fighting.
Most beginner magicians would flinch and feel nervous when in front of a monster. This was true to everyone who doesn't have any experience in dealing with them.
Although Yman was a beginner too, he didn't feel nervous. His mind was as clear as a tranquil swamp.
Even though he's not that strong, the feeling of wanting to get stronger still gets the better of him.
Unfortunately, there were only a few monsters while there were many trainees. So it's right to assume that not all of them would be having a chance to deal with the monsters.
The road they currently have, has a total of 30 meters wide. On their left side was a forest and on the right side was a cliff. They were facing into the west while the monsters facing the east.
"Big Bro, what happened?"
*cough!* *cough!*
Yana asked him with worries after he arrived at the carriage she rode on. It was the 21st carriage, located at the back which was second to the last.
It wasn't only Yana who came with them as family members, there were also some family members of some trainees who went with them. Mostly those trainees that only have 2 members in their family were allowed to take their family members into this world, like Yman and Yana.
He smiled as he replied, "no, don't get anxious, it's just low ranking monsters," he said. Then stroke her hair before he continued saying, "Besides, there are more soldiers with the high level that are guarding us, and there are advisers and instructors as well," he said with a smile.
After hearing his brother's words Yana nodded at him.
"Oh, by the way, I will be borrowing this defective deity of mine," he said as he laid his palm below Sistela who was currently floating beside Yana.
"Big bro, you're mean to Sister Sistela," she said as she pouted her lips.
Sistela grumbled which followed by "Humph!".
He patted his sister while thinking, when did the two of them had become sisters? Looks like his sister Yana was treating his deity Sistela as her sister.
They became much closer without him knowing. Well, at least Sistela was able to make his sister happy and was able to heal her boredom.
Yman also wondered when Sistela started calling him 'partner'. She usually called him 'master'.
After Yana nodded and said her Goodluck to him and Sistela, he strode to the front. To where all the other trainees were.
Yman saw some soldiers at the front planted their rectangular shields on the ground facing the monsters ahead. Almost 20 shields that were neatly lined in front of the soldiers.
There were about 50+ monsters that were ready to engage at them at any moment.
These numbers weren't that small but compared to 200 trainees, they were still considered few.
The instructor did not say that all must participate but the price was so tempting that most of the trainees glinted their eyes in excitement.
Nevertheless, they were under the watchful eyes of the instructors. They thought that, if they fell into a bad situation, the instructors would surely come and help them. They were high level after all. Compared to this rank C monsters, the instructors could easily dispatch them.
Bob and Chloe look at him as he walks towards them.
Seeing Yman with a look that ready to rush in a battle, Bob couldn't help opening his mouth. "Hey. Bro, you are going to join?" Bob asked with the face that looks like he gulped a mouthful of vinegar. He couldn't help feeling grim at the sight of 50+ monsters. Even Chloe had worried expressions surfacing on her face.
Yman noticed that these two have no plan of joining. Well, they were not forced to participate in the first place. Only for those trainees who have the guts to participate.
And he also thinks that Chloe has no need of points, she was even able to travel in these two worlds four times.
But, Yman did indeed need these points. And he thought that it was a chance for him to accumulate much Combat Experience.
He wanted to get stronger after all. This was the only choice he had. To fight and survive. Of course, if he deemed that it's difficult for him to kill the monster. He would give up before the monster emptied his HP. Since the instructor also said that they could give up.
Anyway even if their HP reached zero, they won't die directly. But they regressed back into an ordinary human for almost a month. They couldn't use resonance with their deity; and if no resonance, it also means no magic skill they could use.
The magician who lost their HP would also suffer Mana Deficiency, a kind of disease when a magician emptied their mana container.
But Yman at the moment couldn't even use his mana. At the moment, he could only channel his stamina as a substitute for his mana. Many magicians know how to do it.
Good thing that he was one of them. Channeling your stamina as a substitute to your mana wasn't a simple thing. And it is also not a good example to use it in combat. Because the magician would dry out their stamina they would be weakened fast. So it was advisable to use their mana in battle instead of channeling their stamina.
But, Yeman was not a gifted child with mana. He doesn't even have mana in the first place.
That's why he struggled to learn how to channel his stamina as a substitute for his mana. In order to use a magic skill.
About 50+ trainees, the same number as the monsters, were going to engage. Some of the trainees were waiting, as a substitute when some of the first batches were going to give up.
Yman was not in the first batch as well.
When everyone heard the signal of instructor Goki, they rushed towards the monsters, while grabbing their trusted weapon they specialized in using.
Yman noticed the beautiful girl named Almina Amulet. In her hand was a 1-meter sword that was exuding a chilly aura around it.
"Ice elemental sword," he mumbled.
