--Damn it!
Ayumi wasn't the least bit surprised with the outcome. She knew what was going to happen from the beginning. It was like she was reliving her past.
She would always lose against her master. They would play the same game every time. She would also try to cheat but got caught every time. Even the coin was the same. She saw Alex in despair, just like where once she was, and just like her master, she wasn't satisfied just yet.
'Don't make that face, Alex.'
Alex had barely frowned, but she wouldn't let him ruin his face.
'I know. Why don't I give you another chance? If you could win the remaining three rounds it's your win, will you smile now.'
Giving a scrap of hope to someone in despair so they could get out only to shove them back again. That's how she preferred her prey, broken.
--One more chance? She's just playing with me like a toy. It's like she can see through-
Alex though of something.
--The coin, my movements, how she never seemed to be confused, and finally that wine glass.
It was only a hunch. A hunch that it made sense. Alex's mischievous smile took its position.
'Thank you for your kind offer. I appreciate it.'
She didn't expect such a healthy smile but loved it.
'Now, shall we continue.'
'Of course.'
Alex lifted his glass to reignite the taste of the rich wine.
--The coin must be emitting some kind of special light, which she uses her glass to see through, but if that's the case then…
Alex tossed the coin and caught it with inhumane speed, he held out his hand. It took her a few seconds to guess this time before she answered.
'The left hand.'
'Wrong.'
Alex opened his right hand to show the coin.
'Okay, next round.'
Alex tossed the coin and caught it, Ayumi started to show signs of slight discomfort.
'…The left.'
'Wrong again. Lucky me.'
Alex opened his right hand to reveal the coin again.
'This is the lost turn. It's all or nothing.'
Alex began enjoying the wine. The situation had somehow reversed. Alex threw the coin for the last time, Ayumi watched the coin spinning in the air, the metal circle was gently coming down. Alex's movements created wind in the room.
'Now choose.'
He held out his hands. There was a pause. Ayumi couldn't keep up her act, her eyebrows furrowed from thinking hard. She didn't know where the coin was.
Still, there was a 50% chance of her winning. She looked at both hands carefully.
'What's wrong, choose.'
'…Right'
She uttered. Alex opened his right hand, and it was empty.
'Wow, I won.'
It was the first time anybody had won the game. She could never win. She kept practicing throwing and catching the coin, but her master always seemed to be able to tell.
She was used in whatever way her master wanted. The only way she got out was by killing him herself. It was after she killed him that she found out how he won every time.
'I only have two questions; what is Jira trying to do now, and who is Jira?'
Accepting her defeat, it was time she told him.
'Both are questions I cannot properly answer. The creator of Jira is unknown. All I know is that he is a man and is only known by the X. Be careful of him, he is a man whom nations fear without even seeing him. He can start and end a war by himself.'
'X?'
What an ideal name for someone whom nations fear.
'As for the first question, all I know is Jira has just bought 3 nuclear warheads. Why and where? I am not sure. But you might find what you need in Vegas. Mitchel Barrack, he is a wealthy billionaire who loves gambling and young blonde girls. He is currently funding Jira.'
'I see, thanks for the tip.'
Alex finally got up, taking a sip of wine, finishing it. He took the bottle with him, which was still half full. He got to the door near the guards.
'Oh yeah, that reminds me.'
Alex abruptly grabbed one of the guards forcing the bottle to his lips, making him drink it. He let go of the man who fell to his knees. Alex put his hand up to surrender when the second guard was about to shoot. His attention diverted to his partner.
He uttered strange noises and took off his coat. He started acting like a savage. He looked around like a beast. When Ayumi appeared in his vision. He ripped off his shirt, screaming.
He went berserk. Like an animal in heat, he ran towards her. He was about to grab her when he fell down. Alex threw the coin, which he still had in his hand.
--The effect is this strong?
'You should be careful with the amount of drug you use. If a normal person takes even a little sip, he will lose his mind. But for me, it just made the wine taste sweeter.'
Foam appeared from the man who was knocked unconscious.
'Bye, Miss Ayumi. I hope we can meet again.'
Alex left. Ayumi was startled and frightened with what had happened, but she also a little pleased.
'He has such a pure soul.'
Ayumi muttered.
--No wonder I'm drenched in sweat. That was one potent drug. I'm scared of her.
Alex shivered, thinking how scary the people can be. The truths of the world were slowly unfolding in front of him.
