Monday had arrived. Jason's gloominess still leaked out. Vanessa didn't give him a chance to recover either.
She kept picking on him whenever an opportunity arrived, and when it didn't, she would create one. That's why Jason didn't want to be around her.
Today, when he got back from the university, he got a message from Alex to come to his room at 11am. Jason thought Alex is probably trying to cheer him up, which he didn't need.
He thought it would be a waste of time and ignored the message.
When he was getting ready for bed, he kept hearing dull noises from the next floor. Jason knew it was Alex and tried to ignore it. The sound grew louder. He tried to block out the noise with his pillow, but it became too loud to ignore.
Finally, he got up and went to Alex's room to give him a piece of his mind. He banged the door, but Alex wouldn't answer it. He grabbed the handle felt that the door was unlocked.
He opened the door, and as soon as he did, an apple came flying at him. Jason caught the apple and saw Alex in a tight black suit.
'You're early, Jason.'
'What are you doing, Alex?'
Jason came in, seeing that the whole place was trashed.
'Just testing out the suit Rei Rei sent me.'
'The professor?'
--What is Professor thinking?
'Yeah, check it out. This is called a neuro-graphene suit. Basically, you wear them, and they detect the signals of the body and do the same action. Thus, strengthening the body. Rei Rei sent me two of them. They are made of graphene, so they are pretty durable, Woah!'
Alex's body moved with the suit as he tried to control it, but in the process, a vase broke, and another apple went out the open door hitting a poor cat who let out his cry.
Alex changed back to his usual clothes.
'As you can see, they're a bit buggy. Rei Rei said that I could have them if I could fix them, but it looks like there are still some defects. Besides, they can't do anything for me because I'm stronger than these suits, but I was fixing them for you.'
For me?'
'Yeah, I thought you might need them during our mission.'
'What mission?'
Those words were a sad reminder that Jason got removed from his mission.
'I have been removed from my mission because of my failure.'
'And you're seriously going to take that.'
'Yes, I will not disobey.'
Jason was not about to go against the order of headquarters. Not after what happened that day. People disobeying orders are punished strictly.
'Who said anything about disobeying? You're just observing whatever I do, and I only want to gather more information on Jira and catch Dr. Watson.'
'You are not to do that.'
Jason stopped Alex. He didn't want to make matters worse.
'Who's going to stop me?'
'I am.'
'You? Did headquarters order you to? I am part of the Jira mission. Interfering with what I do is interfering with the mission.'
'Alex, I am warning you. Stand down.'
Alex opened the window. It was a clear night.
'All right, I'll listen to you…. if you can catch me, that is.'
A mischievous grin appeared Alex's face. Jason knew where this was going.
'Alex sto-'
'Ready, go!'
Alex jumped out of the window, grabbing the street lamp, using it to get down. Jason pursued Alex, leaping through the window, and used his gun to propel down. As soon as both got down, the chase was on.
Even though Alex could run faster than him, Jason was not far behind. Alex kept running, leading Jason. He ran up on top of a house and started jumping homes and buildings.
'Doesn't this feel nostalgic, Jason?'
Jason did not reply. He kept focusing on Alex, determined to catch him. Alex made sure he had an eye on Jason. Alex couldn't afford to repeat what happened last time. He kept running and saw the train tracks on his left.
He heard the familiar sound of the engine, and further ahead was a train crossing sign.
'How convenient.'
The train soon made its appearance, the signal turned red. The barriers went down. Alex ran straight ahead.
The train came with its long body. The driver smoothly operated the train but panicked when he saw the silhouette of a man.
He panicked and punched the brake in a useless attempt, the train ran through. The driver couldn't hear the sound of anything, nor did he feel that the train had hit anything. Blaming his imagination, he shrugged it off.
'Finally, lost him.'
Alex was on top of the train. After a few seconds, he looked behind, and Jason was standing there, gun in hand, catching his breath, but still had plenty of energy.
'It seems that I can't run away.'
Alex was trying to recreate the first time he met Jason. This time things will end his way. Jason put his gun away. He knew what was going to happen next.
'Alex, you do not want to do this.'
'But fighting is another case.'
Alex dashed towards Jason.
