Today was Saturday. Jason still hadn't fully recovered from what took place last week. He never smiled much from the beginning, but sadness could be felt no matter how much he tried to hide.
To get rid of it, Alex decided to take him to an amusement park, hoping to cheer him up. Jason was practically dragged to the amusement park.
He didn't want to go, but Alex's persistence forced him to. Surprisingly, he showed little physical resistance like he didn't care anymore. They arrived at the amusement park.
'Wow! It sure is here?'
The park was packed with people all there to take a break from their exhausting routine. Alex was as energetic as ever.
'So, what should we do first?'
'I do not care.'
Jason was already starting to miss his room. Alex saw how dead Jason was from the inside and wanted to liven it up.
'Then let's go to the haunted castle first.'
Alex got the tickets, and they went in.
The haunted castle was well built, and despite the sun being high in the sky, no light penetrated inside. There were real cobwebs and even real blood (animals), which gave off a foul smell. All to give it an even more realistic feeling.
The castle was known to get at least one scream out of even the most stubborn customer.
There were several jumpscares as one further went in. The door creaked, and horrific screams could be heard. There were also people working ghosts, ghouls, and zombies to scare the people.
All of them were failing miserably on Jason. As they opened the bedroom, a man who was supposedly hanged, having a rope around his neck, suddenly appeared.
'Wahh, they got me.'
Alex tried to set the mood. Jason had no response. He just walked on to finish the castle.
'Jason, it wouldn't hurt to at least pretend to be surprised.'
The cameras showed the surveillance group how none of the things were working on Jason.
They were nearing the end, when suddenly a man came through the portrait hanging on the wall with his brain out, his left eye hanging, screaming in agony.
Jason was not impressed. He glared at the man with disappointment.
'Wahh….'
Jason let out a machine-like voice remembering what Alex said.
'How is that man still not scared?'
The surveillance team couldn't figure it out. They proceeded to their final plan.
Jason walked past the man who had never witnessed such a scenario. His pride was wounded. Alex bowed his head, apologizing to the man.
'I'm sorry.'
Jason was about to open the last door, which led out when suddenly a man crept up behind him and threw a real-life tarantula at him.
--How's that?
He took out a sensitive microphone to record the tiniest of screams. He waited for the cry, but none came.
He looked to see the spider crawling on Jason's face, who was still unfazed. He grabbed the spider from his face and handed it to the man. He said nothing, but the man felt what Jason was thinking. (Pathetic.)
He opened the door and went outside. Alex again apologized who to the man never felt so defeated in his entire career,
I'm really, really sorry.'
Alex followed Jason outside. Next, they tried the roller coaster. The coaster went up and down, making a loop. All the people, including Alex, were enjoying the thrill of the high-speed coaster, but Jason's face did not change.
Next, they tried the big drop, the same reaction. The giant swing, same thing. This time Alex got annoyed.
'Aren't you feeling anything?'
'WS agents have been trained to operate in G 7 zones without any problem.'
Alex faced palmed, thinking about what he should do next.
--I could throw him off a building, and he still wouldn't feel a thing.
Alex felt hungry and thought it was time to grab something to eat.
Nearby was a cotton candy stall, Alex got two of them. He handed one to Jason. As they were going to get some food to eat, Alex saw a young boy in tears. He was desperately looking for someone, probably his parents.
Alex couldn't ignore the boy. After telling Jason, he went up to him.
'Hey there, do you need any help?'
Alex asked him while offering him the blue cotton candy.
'N-no, I don't need help. I'm not lost.'
The boy tried to speak in a manly voice but failed cutely. He fought back his tears as he tried to convince Alex.
--This boy is refusing help being offered to him. He's trying to act bigger than himself and wants to solve his problems by himself. He reminds me of someone.
Alex looked back to see Jason quietly eating the candy with his familiar stern face.
'You came here with your father, didn't you?'
'How do you know?'
The boy was staggered at how Alex knew that. Looks like my guess was right.
'Because I know your dad.'
'That's a lie. I know you don't.'
The boy was smart for his age. Most children would straight out believe it.
'Really, I know him. But you see, I came here to see him, but I'm a bit lost. Can you help me find him?'
If the person in need is refusing help, then let them help you, change your roles. It works almost every time.
'Well...I guess.'
'Really. Thank you very much. You're amazing.'
Alex patted the boy's head to express his gratitude. He also warmed up a little to Alex.
'One more thing, I bought this cotton candy but can't seem to finish it….'
The boy's eyes sparkled a bit as they should when a child sees something sweet.
'It's so sweet and fluffy that I don't want it to go to waste. Could you help me with this too?'
'Fine.'
The boy took the cotton candy offered to him and enjoyed the sweet taste. He soon reverted to the child he really was. Alex took hold of the boy's little hand.
'Shall we go?'
'Yeah'
The boy finally placed his trust in Alex. *Now that I think about it, Alex could easily kidnap kids if he wanted to. Aren't you all glad he isn't a pedophile?*
