Graphene is extremely durable, and Rei Rei wanted to create swords because, why not? The initial phase was a success. The swords were retractable and could effortlessly become small enough to fit inside one's pocket. When fully extended, they were of full arm's length.
They were extremely light that even a child could easily swing them and had some pretty sick features. Combined with ultrasonic movements, it could slice through refined steel like a knife through butter. It can create a powerful magnet and can reach temperatures hotter than magma. Those were its star points.
But a large amount of electricity was required to perform even one of those feats. Batteries would die after one or two uses of 10 seconds each. The only other way was to make a small backpack-sized generator and connect it to swords with wires, but that doesn't make them convenient anymore.
Jason tested out the swords and if it were not for this problem. Graphene swords would have been his primary weapon.
Rei Rei told Alex about the swords and its only default. Alex thought for a while, and the words slipped out of his mouth.
'You think maybe my body could adapt to produce enough electricity that it could power those weapons.
From there, it all started. Alex's body would automatically create a layer of fat, and his hair would grow larger and thicker when his body was exposed to extreme cold.
His body would sweat more, and his hair would shrink when exposed to extreme heat, which would happen in a matter of minutes. All of this still could not prove if Alex's body could generate, but science has always room for improvement. This is the reason why it is so charming.
They had no other choice but to try it for real rather than hypothesizing in their mind or writing theories.
'And you are doing it by using electricity?'
'Don't worry, it's only 150 volts of Alternating current with 0.007 Ampere. Nothing lethal.'
'Yeah. Up till now, I've only lost the feeling in my pinkies and ring fingers'
Jason stared in disbelief at the two madmen, *one madman and one whatever Rei Rei is,* who saw this as everyday life.
'That reminds me, Jason. I have something to give you. You continue the experiment and give Alex the current supply at regular intervals, but the shock time should not exceed 5 seconds.'
Jason reluctantly took control of the electric generator while Rei Rei went off somewhere. He gave shocks to Alex as instructed by the Professor, but nothing seemed to happen. Apart from Alex feeling moderate pain and letting out a noise. *Hmm…. I'm pretty sure Alex isn't a masochist…*
'Are you still not satisfied with this insane experiment?'
'Hmm, You're right. I'm not feeling any different, maybe we should try increasing the voltage.'
'Enough of this. I am only wasting my time here. And where is the Professor?'
Rei Rei was taking a while, but considering how huge his lab was, it could be understood. It took 3 minutes to sprint from one end to another.
'Just one last time, give me a shock and while doing it increase the voltage up to 250.'
Jason wanted to end this as soon as possible.
'Fine… but this is the last time.'
Jason pressed the button, and the current began flowing. Jason twisted the knob clockwise to increase the voltage, but the reading didn't change. He turned it a bit more. Still, the bar showed 150. Meanwhile, strange noises could be heard from Alex.
Jason looked up to see the metal chair shook violently with Alex, who looked in agonizing pain. Jason again looked at the board. To his horror, he had spun the knob, which increased the ampere, and the reading showed a whopping 1 Ampere! A current of 0.1 ampere can kill a person in a second.
Alex's muscles moved involuntarily and broke through the chains, flying off at a frightening speed. He hit the wall hard enough to destroy a part of it. Blood came gushing out of his body and his mouth. He lost consciousness.
Rei Rei came running back, hearing the noise.
'Jason, what happened?'
