Everyone is silent. Killua's brother stares at me.
"Well this is quite strange, what are you?"
Esther: "Me? I'm an inventor. I create things. Now let Killua go."
He stares at me, man, his eyes are strangely hypnotic. I can feel the blood, dripping down from my legs. They feel numb, and painful. I almost can't feel them anymore. I keep smiling, trying to make that grin Gon first gave me when we first met. This time, I think I got it. My teeth are shown. If you actually look, you can see 2 sharp teeth.
I'm still holding out my hand to Killua. He still seems very undecided. Can't blame him, it's not like you can escape from your past. He looks like he wants to grab my hand, but he fears that his brother will hurt him if he moves. Also, I feel that there is something wrong with Killua. Although, I'm not sure what. It's almost as if he isn't in control of his actions right now.
"…I have come to a realization. If I can't kill you yet, then I'll make you kill yourself."
Esther: "What-"
He shoots pins at me, I can't dodge them. My legs have given away. I fall down, onto the floor. I can't feel anything, but everything is painful! I scream, but it doesn't hurt…? Oh no, I think I'm in a state of lingering faint. I can see Killua's face distort, his eyes becoming empty. He looks down onto the floor, seemingly have coming up with a decision.
Killua: "You win, Illumi…I give up, just…don't hurt him anymore…"
"Well that's good to hear, listen. I wasn't actually planning on killing them, I was just testing to see where your heart is."
Bastard…don't lie! Illumi retracts his pins from me, I can feel my consciousness fading away. I can hear Leorio and Kurapika yell out to me, while running for me. And I saw Killua's face, just like mine when I saw mother die for the first time. That's a face, I don't want anyone I care for to ever make that face again! I close my eyes, and welcome the darkness. But before that, I could've sworn I saw a tear drop on the floor.
Waking up, I see a ceiling. Feeling around, looks like I'm on some bed. My ears twitch, I can feel that someone is staring at me. I turn to look, and see Mint Lady. I look away.
Esther: "So it seems that I fainted…what happened to Killua?"
"…He got disqualified for killing, congratulations on becoming a hunter though."
Esther: "I see…Hey, did he at least say goodbye before leaving?"
"No, he left, looking very desolate. So what are you going to do now?"
Esther: "I'll do what I always have done, travel with Gon. I'm sure he as well won't let things slide. And I got a score to settle with Illumi. Killua is suffering alone at his home, I'm going to go get him. And bring him back."
I try to get up, but I can't seem to move my legs without them aching. Ouch!
"I wouldn't move your legs for a while if I was you, your muscles were pretty much twisted. I'm surprised you can actually move this much."
Esther: "Oh…not going to ask about what I am?"
"I have no need to, it's none of my concern. Anyways, here. This is your hunters license, I hope you become a great hunter."
Esther: "…thanks…"
I take the card, and put it in my sleeve. Mint Lady gets up, and exits the room. I stare up at the ceiling. Man…I'm useless… I cover my eyes with my hand. I don't want anyone seeing me cry. The room is filled with soft crying and the sounds of diamonds falling. If only, I was stronger. I could have helped Killua. I could have saved my mother. And I could have not gotten hurt to this extent. I'm useless!
