Jason ended up dragging Alissa by her ear back to Edward.
"Alissa, you can't be disobeying orders like that," Edward reprimanded.
"I just wanted to perfect my new magic so I could show it off to you..." Alissa's voice trailed off as she looked at the ground and twiddled with her thumbs.
Edward sighed and patted her on the head. She couldn't look in his eyes, like a schoolgirl who had just been caught breaking the rules.
Alissa had always been obsessed with learning, improving and creating magic: she was obsessed with all of it. Most of all, she was obsessed with impressing Edward and proving herself as an exceptional mage.
This was all because of being abandoned as a child; it made her so eager to be of use to Edward, who she saw like a father.
"It's okay."
Edward smiled and ruffled her hair.
"Tell you what, we're going on a mission now to catch some bad people, so you can practice your magic on them, yeah?"
Alissa nodded happily and skipped over to Jason, who flicked her on the head.
"Silly girl," he tutted softly, looking at the girl who was grinning from ear to ear about being able to blow up some criminals, seemingly without a care in the world
For the second time, Edward clapped and made everyone gather round.
"Are we all ready this time?"
Everyone turned to look at Alissa, who responded by grinning awkwardly.
"Then...let's-a go!"
They all looked at him, confused.
"Forget it."
Space seemed to distort and they disappeared.
***
They found themselves at the end of a narrow alleyway, plastic bottles and bits of glass crunching beneath their feet as they appeared.
"I guess you're all wondering what we're doing here. Well, I've borrowed some info from the Ministry of Magic about a gang of dark wizards that are murdering muggles and have killed a any Aurors that were sent to investigate."
"The leader and creator is an infamous dark wizard called Ajax 'the Slaughter' Henderson who has been expanding the gang for about 10 years.
"Currently, they're main base is unknown and likely heavily guarded. From the info, I've gathered that the Ministry have likely not acted against them yet to hit them with a big strike off-guard."
Walking out of the alleyway, the four, who had just arrived in the future, gasped.
Huge skyscrapers towered over them with glass windows gleaming in the golden sun. People in clothing nothing like Medieval garments rushed to across the pavements. Mechanical wonders roared as they zoomed past only stopping for the multicoloured lights.
"Wow."
"It's pretty."
"Is it all run by magic."
"..." (slightly shocked silence).
They all continued to walk to the first location, bombarding Edward with questions, which he tried his best to answer.
To Edward's relief, they finally arrived at a battered, wooden door in a back alley.
"Alohamora."
The door clicked and slowly creaked open as the group entered, to be greeted by a small room.
Quietly, they inspected the dimly lit room, seeing only a few worn sleeping bags and cigarette butts on the floor. There also seemed to be something on the wall.
"Lumos," Edward chanted, raising the bright light at the top of his wand.
The wall was covered in dried blood and there was some on the floor and sleeping bag too. The fact that there was blood on the wall meant that they had not let off the victims with a simple killing curse.
"Sick bastards," Jason mumbled.
Above them, they suddenly heard footsteps and a door opening. Those footsteps started getting closer to the stairs.
Edward cast an invisibility spell on all of them and intently listened.
"...yeah, yeah. I know! Who would've thought Muggle women could be so much fun?" a disgusting laugh could be heard, coming from the stairs.
Eventually, the voice's owner got to the bottom of the lower floor.
It was an obese man, stomach hanging over his trousers, with a greasy nose that had huge nostrils and a bulbous, red spot on the end. Sweat dripped from his forehead, having soaked his hair, and the dry skin around his face sagged all the way down to his monstrous chin.
As he began to walk to the door, a red spell hit him on the back of the head.
When he awoke, he was just outside of the building and an Incarcerous spell has been cast on him, ropes covering all of him from his feet to his throat.
"Nice sleep?"
In front of him, stood Jason with a fake smile.
"Who are you people?"
"Shhhhh."
Jason pressed his wand against the man's lips.
"You don't need to know that. Right now, all you need to do is tell me where Ajax's base is."
"I can't tell you, he'll kill me."
The man started to flail around, sweating profusely.
"Oh, we're going to kill you, but telling us now can make it less painful for you."
"Now tell us where the base is."
"I can't!"
"Crucio!"
A flick of his wand caused the man to start writhing and screaming.
"Stop! Please stop!" the man begged.
Jason looked him in the eye and his mouth twisted upwards. The man could see the fiery pits of hell itself in those seemingly tranquil eyes.
"I'll tell you a secret."
He cupped his mouth and whispered in the man's ear.
"We know Legillimency."
The torture continued for a while before Jason turned to Alissa.
"He's all yours."
Alissa turned to Edward; upon his approving nod, she raised her wand at the man. His eyes looked lifeless as they stared blankly at the ground and his whole body was almost completely limp.
"Fiendfyre."
A huge flame serpent rose up, baring it's razor fangs and swallowed the man, incinerating him inside of its stomach.
"What do you think?"
She beamed at Edward.
"You really do have a talent for modifying spells. I'm very proud."
He ruffled her hair causing her face to redden as she giggled with glee.
"Now will you do the honours?"
With all the information they needed, there was no point in keeping this eyesore around nor the bastards inside.
Edward had checked with magic vision for any victims that they could save in there, but they were all dead, and the bodies had all been disentegrated by those scum with Incendio.
"Of course!"
Alissa's eyes sparkled as she pointed her wand towards the building and prepared her favourite spell.
"Hehe, Bombarda Maxima!"
