Ye Wudao closed his eyes, cutting off his vision, and then spread out his hearing to listen carefully to every sound within the castle. After a while, he suddenly opened his eyes.
"There's another layer of this castle we haven't explored. He must be hiding there," Ye Wudao said confidently to Nangong Xueer.
"Another layer? Haven't we walked through all of it?" Nangong Xueer asked, somewhat surprised.
"This layer is beneath the castle," Ye Wudao explained.
Not long after, Nangong Xueer saw that Ye Wudao had indeed found an entrance leading underground, which she found somewhat unbelievable, wondering how Ye Wudao had known about this hidden layer.
The two followed a winding stone staircase downward. The deeper they went, the more sinister and terrifying it became. Droplets of water ticked steadily from above, causing Nangong Xueer to tightly grasp Ye Wudao's arm.
