The pirate leader translated Solor's meaning to Ye Wudao, saying that the underwater cave was very deep, nearly two hundred meters or so. It would be difficult for most people to reach it without diving equipment.
The reason Solor could descend was that he had grown up by the sea since childhood and had a special ability that no one else had—he could exchange gases using his lungs like fish, meaning he could stay underwater for a long time without breathing. Local people called him a fish-man.
