Bailan Mountain wasn't very far; it took roughly just over half an hour to get there by car. In the past, the mountain was a popular spot for many couples at night, but for some reason, when Ye Wudao arrived, he hardly saw any lovers around.
Actually, Ye Wudao was not aware that a few days ago, a couple was kidnapped here. The male was stabbed to death with a knife, and the female was gang-raped by the criminals, causing widespread panic in the area. As a result, recently, couples have been too scared to come here for romance.
At the top of Bailan Mountain, there was a place called the Observing Stars Platform, a large terrace near the edge of a cliff. Iron chains were installed around the perimeter of the cliff edge as a safety barrier to prevent people from accidentally falling off. It was formerly a spot where astronomy enthusiasts would come to watch the stars, but now it has gradually become a romantic spot for couples.
