Shen Jianguo stared at her intently, feeling a slight sense of loss in his heart. He couldn't understand why she had become so cold toward him just because he was a week late in giving her an answer.
The two of them casually found a place to sit, and Sheng Ning lowered her head and devoured her meal, intent on finishing quickly and making her escape.
"Comrade Sheng Ning, did I upset you?" Shen Jianguo asked in distress.
"No!" Her hands continued shoveling rice non-stop, she was genuinely hungry after a day of training.
"Comrade Sheng Ning, I didn't reply to you earlier..." Shen Jianguo hadn't finished speaking when Sheng Ning abruptly stood up.
Her metal lunchbox was already empty. Holding the lunchbox, she interrupted, "I'm full, I'm leaving first." Without waiting for Shen Jianguo to respond, she grabbed her lunchbox and ran off.
She moved so quickly she could have competed in a sprint.
