Barda breathed a sigh of relief. After three tries, he was getting exasperated. However, he had done it. He wiped the imaginary sweat from his brow once more.
One of the pieces of information Barda obtained from Rowan's Library was how to make Enchanted objects. This was one level above smithing, as it involved infusing magic to an object, in essence making it magic-worthy.
Take a regular sword. For starters, Barda could not use his Fire Element on it as it would melt, not baring the power that was coursing through it.
Even in cases where the Element was attuned to the object, such as metal sword and Thunder Element, the sword would only conduct Electricity, it couldn't generate or enhance the Element.
There were several types of object-enchanting based on the needs of the enchanter. One could do it to enhance a weapon, make it conduct a magical element, enhance an element, or even make the object contain magical abilities.
The most difficult skill was to generate an entirely new Elemental object. The advantage was that one could determine the properties of the object as they saw fit thus making the power contained more directed and easier to manipulate.
Barda had been trying a skill he had picked up from one of the scrolls in the books. It described how to make an Elemental Golem core that could generate an ELemental Golem.
The reason Barda was so interested in this skill was that he had seen its upside when he had been conjuring Elemental Beings. To the AI, they served as Robots.
The AI had found it so easy to structure and create the Elemental Beings since it had its blueprint and it knew how to run its body. It just had to replicate the same processes onto the Elemental beings.
After taking a break from all the fighting, Barda had started experimenting on these Elemental Beings, especially the Ice Elementals. He had been quite used to the Fire Elementals since he had fought his way through many obstacles with them.
Unlike the Fire Elementals that were flexible and agile, the Ice Elementals were stiff and harder to operate. It had been a delicate balance to maintain the joints lubricated but not disintegrating.
Since he had nothing to do all night, and he didn't sleep, all he could do was keep experimenting with them. After a while, he got very good at it, good enough to attempt the next level.
So far, Barda only knew of one way of forming an Elemental Being, and that was using specialized objects, such as his Conjuring Rod. These Elemental Beings were temporary as they consumed a lot of Magical Energy to maintain and could not be maintained for long.
However, there was another type of Elemental Being called the Golem. Unlike the other kind, these were self-sustaining, obtaining their power from the core from which they were formed.
Another resource Barda had obtained from Rowan's library was knowledge of how to create a Golem core.
This was a high-level Enchanting procedure and was very complicated. So complicated that Barda had been unable to hack in the first try.
Even experienced Enchanters would not take making Golem cores as a light matter, and theirs was only a basic Golem. Barda had made a very sophisticated Golem that resembled his body in a lot of ways.
Barda took the time to inspect the object he just formed. It looked more like a glass ball, not even a hint of water. The ice was fully stable and compact. However, if an ordinary person touched it, the least they would walk away with is frostbite.
Next, he checked its details in the interface.
Ice Golem Elemental Core (Training type)
Activation: Dropped in water after injecting the user's blood.
Control: Remote, Range 1,500 meters
Creates a 6 feet humanoid Ice Golem upon activation.
Remarks: The activating water body must contain enough Water molecules to supply the creation of the Golem.
"Sir, the two commanders you request to come and see you, they are waiting for you," Karla said as she walked in. Previously, the 2 had given word, but at the time, Barda had given instructions not to be disturbed. Right now though, he just called her in, so she could pass the message.
"They are already here? Where is Batoo, are you guys finished with the project I asked?"
"Yes, he is putting the finishing touches as we speak,"
"It's fine then, have the Commanders walk with me," Barda said as he turned his attention to the two brilliant commanders whose names were sung as folk heroes, Commanders Manga and Catalina.
Unlike Manga who had to do a lot of soul-searching, after the meeting, Catalina had gone up to Barda and asked, "Do I have to take the whole night or can I decide now?"
Her mind was made up. She was a warrior, that was what she had been raised to become. The smallest sister among 5 older brothers, she was more at home surrounded by a group of men telling dirty jokes than girls gossiping about their men in decent company.
Truthfully, Barda felt that she would have been better served as a police officer, but then again, Barda wanted Manga as the head of the Air Force. In hindsight, perhaps he should have imposed his will.
Nevertheless, Barda had picked these 2 as the Commanders of the 2 most odd things he had introduced, the Air Force and the Police Force, headed by Catalina and Manga respectively.
He had 2 other options to choose from, General Morio and Lord Abu. The Arch-Mage had always been partial to the sea, so Barda decided that was the best place for him.
Barda did not have a good impression of General Morio. He felt his performance in the war had been very dismal, barely making a mark. However, the General had shown extreme determination while protecting the Queen. This made Barda make him the head of the Kings' Guard.
Make no mistake, this was not just Tristan city's King's Guard, but the King's Guard Force was going to be responsible for the protection of all Kings and Queens and their royalty, and any other government worker of note.
Anyway, as he walked, he chatted with the two commanders he had selected. These were extremely big shoes to fill, and while they were battle-tested, leadership was a whole different matter.
They were going to encounter a lot of issues along the way, and how they handle them would set the pace for future generations.
Barda wanted to get a fill of who they were. Their personalities, and hopefully spot any mishap before it happened. There was only so much he could gleam off from first glance, but so far, no red flags.

"Why are you here?" Barda had a cross face when he entered the warehouse.
"Lord Barda, surely you did not expect my Lord to personally take up the responsibility as he is still the head of the Order? He asked me to come in his place," Lord Althalos answered, completely unfazed by Barda's impoliteness.
Thinking about it, Barda realized he had missed that. He had asked Lord Abu to be the Commander of the seas yet the man had leadership responsibilities. However, the annoying thing was that the man had deemed it upon himself to appoint his replacement.
Upon evaluating Lord Althalos, Barda assessed that he wasn't a bad choice, and his performance was not bad at all. Having a mage in the line-up of commanders would be a nice touch.
Soon after, four figure-heads were gathered in a large warehouse at Tannin around their Lord Commander as he presented their uniforms from then on. These were the combat wear that would be availed to every warrior.
The Air Force had a Dark Grey suit, the Army had a Jungle Green suit, the navy got Deep-sea blue, while the police got a lighter blue. These suits were laid out before the Commanders.
As part of the military parade, Barda would present the new arrangement of the forces to the world. He needed them to be dressed the part.
That was another thing he planned on introducing. The idea was outdated over the years but many dynasties and civilizations still maintained this show of force.
It served to reassure the citizens that their country was in good hands still and that all was safe and sound. If not for anything else, since this was a military celebration, he had to present something good.
After Barda was done explaining to the commanders what a parade was, he then gave them their first main task. Recruiting members among their ranks. These would be the backbone of the organization that would be created.
