Chapter 59 - Popped cherry

Long before androids had been invented, sex dolls the likes of the Samantha series had been part of human lives. Naturally, with the novelty and fanfare attached to an android, a real-life simulation of a body, this area was not neglected.

With advancements in other areas such as the prosthetics making, humanity could interact with a machine at a never-before-seen level. Mankind quickly invented a way to have sex with machines.

After the formation of the neural link, go f*ck yourself was no longer a vain insult, for people literally could do it, well maybe not quite literally but they came close. With specially designed dolls, one could simulate both the male and female orgasms simultaneously. Point is, androids and sex were never far from each other.

By the time Barda came to have his android body, technology was already at zenith on this issue. Barda had a healthy, functional reproductive system with one minor difference. He could turn his system on or off.

Naturally, he kept it turned off. At the last minute, when he kissed the Queen's hand, the AI system activated a subsystem in his brain to automatically turn his reproductive system on. These were subroutines put in place to give the feeling more human, more natural. If one had to pause to switch it on would be like having to pause to take a pill.

Barda didn't know this, not consciously, which was the point. When he had kissed the Queen's hand, he had felt an overwhelming flow of testosterone burst through his body, and a bunch of other chemicals that made Barda feel something he had not felt in centuries. The lass found herself in the massive arms of the man she wanted to be held by. The rest as you say is history.

As Barda watched the Queen slumber on his chest, he had to admire the novelty and the sheer ingenuity of it all. Copying from mother nature, Barda could not differentiate his prior human experience and his new android experience. In some ways, it had been enhanced.

Moreover, he envied the Queen. Her first experience had been awesome, unlike his and almost everyone else's whose first experience consists of fumbling in the dark without a clue what one was doing. Barda had a lifetime of memories to depend on. Come to think of it, this was also his first time in this body. She had also popped his cherry too.

With that scary thought, Barda wriggled his way out of the Queen's embrace, dressed up and left. He noticed the guards had seen his exit but had not reacted. Perhaps they had guessed what went on within the closed tent. Well, if he could, he would tell them just how much of an epic shag their queen was.

When Barda got back, he found that light was still burning in the area they were camped at. Barda wondered who it could be since by now people should be too exhausted, but he quickly got the answer. A very stunning answer, in more than one way.

Batoo was up, burning the midnight oil. This was not odd at all since he would sometimes do it, but what was odd or in this case stunning was that he was with a stunningly beautiful woman. Was she blind? Barda wondered as he came closer to investigate.

The memory of her brother's death was still very raw to Zoey, so when she came to the camp, she couldn't help her bleeding heart. She felt the same helplessness she had felt when she was nursing her brother Mason, and what's more, this was enhanced by the scale of war.

It wasn't just that there were many injured, but the fact that those injured were the lucky ones since the others died. Yet they were still going to die from infections had sullen the mood too much. Imagine the shock to see a contortion created that could heal and break the fever. Young Zoey regretted never having learned it before, for if she had learned she could have helped her brother.

Resolving to learn it no matter what, she went over to the guys who were making this life-saving elixir. That was when she had stumbled on Batoo. After the work, she had girded her heart and made her approach to Batoo with a request.

How could she know that at that moment she had blown Batoo's mind? The moment she had said she was his fan, Batoo felt beyond zenith or cloud nine. A fan. Let me rephrase that, Batoo had a fan! And not some cheap-looking dirt-ridden fan, but a beautiful woman.

He had had to reject her though since she did not fit Barda's criteria. Among one of the few things Barda had been very clear about was that he wanted people who could read and write. Literate people and for obvious reasons. He would be handing out written instructions and expecting reports and subscriptions and whatnot. For that, he needed someone who could read and write.

It was then that Zoey had beseeched Batoo to teach her how to read and write. Having grown up in a village in the middle of nowhere, how could the poor girl have learned how to read and write? Batoo had similar circumstances, but he had Mrs. Freda, who had come from the city. She had taught both he and her daughter to read and write.

On seeing the pair, Barda was taken aback. Not wanting to hover, after exchanging pleasantries he picked up his bag and left. He had noticed the chalk and board on the girl's hands and he couldn't help but think: Alas! the ol' pick up line, come I teach you how to read and write. Nope, that doesn't sound right.

On her part, Zoey was blown away. While she admired and respected Batoo, practically everyone revered Barda. He was a legendary figure responsible for one miracle after another. People spoke of him with veneration and respect. Barda's name was not only a symbol of strength and might but also that of genius and greatness. She'd met him once before in the day classes, but she was just one of the students. Now she had a chance to interact with him.

Batoo noticed the look of adoration from Zoey's eyes when she met and spoke with Barda. He didn't know the term 'celebrity crush', but he knew one thing, he stood no chance against Barda, so he wouldn't dare compete. Thank goodness his friend had the decency to leave.

"You're a hard man to get to nowadays," Barda heard a voice as he was making his way out of camp. There was one more thing he needed to do, but he hadn't found the chance to. Turning around, he saw Lady Ellen walking up to him with a faint smile, the best she could do given the circumstances. She still retained the beauty, just with a layer of sadness added to it.

"I meant to come to you sooner ..." Barda started, but the lady interrupted him by placing her hand on his arm.

"It's okay, I understand. I came here to thank you actually,"

"Thank me, for what?"

"Phoenix is doing much better due to the elixir you made. You should come by sometime when the queen is not keeping you too busy," Lady Ellen said with a knowing smile. One of the microexpressions captured was a face full of jealousy. Barda wondered, this just happened, how could she know?

"I definitely will."

"Where are you off to?" Lady Ellen asked, seeing he was in a rush. Barda could choose to tell her that he had picked up a bunch of orbs from the dragons he killed and he wanted to have a look at them, maybe even find a way of absorbing them in his system. While at it he could also tell her the real truth about where he came from. A lot of good that'll do.

"I want to have a look around, see if there is any looming threat,"

"Orders from above?" She indicated the ridge where the queen was.

"No, can't sleep, want to feel useful."

"You know, you're still my man and she'll have to pay for any and all services Dark Flames adventurers accord her," Lady Ellen trying to tease Barda.

"We win her the kingdom back, she'll with interest," Barda retorted.

"Alright, get to it then," Lady Ellen said, pushing Barda off to where he was off to. As she watched his silhouette disappear in the night, complex emotions clouded her mind. It felt like grief and was almost as devastating. Why was she fated to lose everything?
