With the sun slowly setting as the school quickly ended. Students pooled the school gate, chatting, and a new rumour beginning to circulate the student community.
"Hey, aren't you suppose to be doing your work?"
While that was happening, Nehime and Yomu walked the building of the school's hall while they conversed.
"I already finished, you know you look different than your usual attire, less sexy, but refreshing, 'Ice Queen'~," He grinned.
"I never liked that name."
"Me neither. They should have named you 'Ice Cream'."
"Hey!"
While the two laughed and conversed, there were two people following behind them. And it was Yuri and Tsukasa, friends of Nehime.
"Uhm, how did you guys meet?" The one who spoke was Yuri, as Tsukasa was uncomfortable in the situation, so Yuri thought of saying something Tsukasa would want to say.
"We live in the same place," Nehime replied.
"W-What!? So you guys live in the same apartment?" Tsukasa questioned, obviously not taking it well.
"Ah, no, we just live next to each other in apartments," Unaware to what she misled.
"If you don't believe me, you can ask my Mom, the Landlord," Nehime waved her hand back at Tsukasa.
Yomu a bit surprised, "I didn't know your Mom was the Landlord."
"Really?" Nehime questioned.
"Yep, I only talked to her on phone. Now that I can see a connection, your last names are the same,"
Yomu made gestures to get his point out, which looked amusing.
The four proceeded to talk aimlessly with the night beginning to come. Moments of thoughts roamed, Nehime remembered she had something to do.
"Ah, I remembered that I need to go back to the Student Council room, I'd walked with you guys later," Nehime said as she stopped walking.
"Sure, see you later~," Yomu, the first one to respond, began ambling back.
"Yeah, see you tomorrow," Both Yuri and Tsukasa also went with Yomu.
The 3 then went separate from Nehime as she went towards her destination, the Student Council room.
. . .
"Oh, you didn't forget."
The one who greeted her there again was Hori, the Vice-President. Sitting on the couch, as he shifts his glasses with his middle finger while he read his book.
"I almost did forget... so, where's Kaichou?"
I looked around the room to find no one, I ended up sitting on a couch, opposite to Hori, to wait. I have never been in the Student Co. room before, but it amazes me as the place is styled in a shaded black but fancy old British style that seems only for the royals.
I never have seen this style in any other Student Council rooms, I suppose this is what an elite school is like, I guess?
"They should arrive by now."
When I was admiring the place, Hori answered my question. But when he spoke, the floor in the middle of the room began moving up as I gape in attention.
"W-What's happening?"
Hori flipped a page, then uttered, "It's an elevator, never seen one?" He spoke in a satirical manner.
I know what an elevator is, it's just that... isn't it too snappy? I don't how to describe it, it seems like some sort of hero layer, but plot-twist a villains layer? I don't know, just ignore what I just said...
"Nehime-chan~? You are already here~," There were two people inside the cylinder elevator, Hana and Fukashi-sensei, the first to talk was Hana.
I ignored the fancy, but the cool elevator and asked, "Yeah, I'm here, and since you are here already, what's next?"
A smile appeared on her face, "Come in the elevator~ We will do an identity check and all those intellectual stuff to register you~," She waved me in, while in a cheerful spirit.
I did what she asked and went inside the elevator. I took a glimpse at some of the elevators features. It appears to be a more advance technology than Japans, I assume the engineers of Gofma are extraordinary.
"Let's go~," Hana said.
The lift began moving as Hori waves goodbye with me admiring the elevators features like an idiot.
. . .
When the elevator began moving down, both Hana and Fukashi-sensei moved to the wall of the lift. I felt slightly concerned, then inquired an answer, "Why are guys moving to the side?"
"Oh~ it is just a mechanism on the area here, it keeps us from levitating and become mush-meat since the lift will speed up soon~," She smiled.
The smile she made caused me to produce cold sweat on my back as I quickly followed what they did. The next following moment caused me to nearly lose my balance. The elevator speed accelerated, it was as if gravity decided to kill me today.
But when I thought this will be the whole trip, it fortunately or unfortunately, stopped.
I then started probing the elevator as I thought it stopped operating, "Is it broken?"
"Nope~ we just arrived quick~," As Hana replied, the elevator loosens its doors, opening, revealing a spectacular sight.
What revealed in front of me was a view of a vast white city inside a massive dome, and in the city was where buildings connected by bridges and pathways. Huge techs striding with gadgets flying. people walked in white suits with logo's attached to almost everything. The logo design was a black circle with a white crescent and a white circle also in the centre of the white crescent, I normally assumed it was their logo.
What astounded me further was that there were other diverse species!
The myths of old, most are humanoid creatures like the Elf which was most of the humanoid mythical creatures. I reckon why there were more humanoid mythicals, was because of the differences in intelligence. But weirdly they all looked beautiful and attractive? Do supernaturals do plastic surgery as well?
"What the hell is this? Are all the supernatural citizens normally attractive?" I asked as I felt odd asking the question.
"Well~ supernatural phenomenon and supernaturals is the very source of 'Power', it is like exercise, the more you exercise, the more you look attractive~ even the analogy sounds stupid, it is like that~," Hana answered.
"So, genetic plays as well? I guess some looked, less attractive?" I felt a little guilty saying that, but I was curious.
"I can say yes, but if you want a more detailed explanation, ask our scientists~," She then pointed towards a globe building, to what I guessed, their research department.
Then a thought wandered in my head, "Hana, are you the leader of the Organizations?"
"Not at all~ just the Seventh pillar and the Administrator of this Headquarter~," She spoke as she raised her arms to stretch.
"She is also the youngest. But, now~..." This time, it was Fukashi-sensei who spoke.
"Now what?" I ask.
"Now is time to train you, that is now~," She spoke, with an ulterior motive behind her words, delivering me the shivers.
"But first, you need to learn the basics, like the history of the supernatural world and the phenomenons happening. Tomorrow we will start," tapping her chin, she resumes speaking, "We will also add you in the Exterminator cadet program to physically and mentally train you for supernatural cases so you won't have sticks for legs."
"But, I do have sticks for legs..." I muttered with less confidence than before.
"Then we will turn it into a trunk!"
"I don't wanna..."
. . .
. . .
. . .
"... So, what's your goal of being here?"
In a massive hall made of pure white, there was a table and two chairs. The two people who used it were Yomu, wearing an all-black suit and shoes with black gloves. And Hana, wearing a white floral dress with a short white jacket on as they just have begun a chess match. Hana black while Yomu white, and with two white teacups and a white tea kettle at the side.
"Since it won't do much harm~ sure thing, Hana-chan~"
He moved a pawn piece from E2 towards E4, "I came here because of a strange fluctuation between the Heaven and Underworlds rift, I assume the Angels and the Devils will go on civil war, but that sounds stupid since I know the Leaders of both Faction. Also, they must keep in mind of the Fallens as well," Yomu answered while he waved his hand to the side.
Hana then moved her Knight from B8 to C6. Hana was about to speak again, but Yomu spoke faster, "... Also..."
This resulted in Hana to feel anxious, thus Yomu spoke, "... I thought Japan would be a good vacation~!" Then Yomu moved a Bishop from F1 to C4.
The following words that Yomu uttered eased Hana's thought. Then she followed back with a Pawn from B7 to B6 and with Yomu responding moving his Queen to F3. But she was never sure if she does not ask, "How can I know you're not lying?"
When she spoke her words out, Yomu was already close to her face.
'F—Fast!'
As Hana thought this as their face was just a few inches away, it made Hana rosy but at the same time, frightened. A refreshing feeling to perceive at the moment.
He looked at her, in the pause of suspense for seconds, that felt like minutes. But shortly, It ended timely.
"... I don't lie to beautiful girls~"
After his words, he appeared to have disappeared and was back to his chair, it was as if he didn't move at all. Having the guts to move her hand again, Hana held her Knight from C6 and move it to B4.
"You know... you're odd."
Yomu held the handle of his tea and replied, "I know... also, Checkmate~," Then, he moved his Bishop from C4 to F7, Checking the King but also Checkmate by the Queen.
"W-What, you scared me on purpose, didn't you? I normally don't lose to a cheap trick like that!" When she finally noticed her fault, all she can do is retort.
"Sorry~ but a win is a win~ but, you did enjoy our close moment, right~?" Playfully fiddling with the King piece of hers.
Recalling what happened when their faces were just inches away, Hana had a newly tinged of pink appear again but shortly gone after.
"This tea is excellent~," Eliminating bits of tension, Yomu praised the tea.
"Thank you... but hey, Yomu-san..."
Still sipping his tea, he replied, "Yeah~?"
Even Hana thought it was thick-witted, she still spoke, "... Would you consider joining Gofma?"
