Chapter 15 - Musical

Third Person's Point of View

"So class!" Sir Troy stated upon opening his text book. "The given requirement for you to pass your cultural arts subject which is my subject is to do a painting."

"He wouldn't share this unless he change his plan." Sonia flatly stated to Cole who was seated beside her whose interest instantly perked up upon hearing Sonia's observations glancing at their peculiar teacher who was fiddling with his book in hand.

"But I realize that you'll only be wasting your money on things that I'll have to throw in the end." Sonia gave Cole an 'I told you so' look which was immediately diverted back to the teacher with shock in their eyes. "So, I decided to make you guys do a play."

"But not just any normal play." The teacher stated stopping the commotion coming from the students in front of him. "A musical Play."

Groaning from other students can be heard while at the same time excited shrills and chatters from other students compliments the gloom from the other, on the other hand Cole stayed silent quietly yet excitedly glancing at Sonia who was looking at her with a small smile.

'Well what do you know. Our Forte.' The two thought in sync creating a high five in the process with a slight squeal as they came to clutch their hand tighter in excitement.

"So, let's start discussing this. It'd be too late for you kids if we move longer." Their teacher, sir Troy lazily stated as he took a seat on the chair putting his stuffs on the teachers table. "Now, I prefer you guys doing this than the arts cause I know you might be able to use this learnings you will use in the future."  Troy's pink orbs scan the area around him watching his students that was confusedly gazing at him as he grin from ear to ear.

"You'll know what I mean when we get there!" He stated a small smile in his face not leaving. "So who'll be our Director?"

————

"Are you guys certain about making me hold this position?" Caroline once again questioned looking at her classmates who nominated her as the director of their play.

"Well, you're clearly the most experienced one here in terms of these kinds of things." Sonia, who seemed to be the one who nominated her stated while looking at the board where other positions are held sighing in the process as she silently wish to be kept out of the workload.

"Now that we have a director, she get to decide the people around the place to move." Caroline inwardly cheered having already the right person in mind put to aid her.

"Well, since I'm given authority by sir Troy." She started her purple hues read each position in the board. Her eyes landing on one of the positions.

Technicals.

Her eyes landed on to someone right off the bat, her purples hues meeting her amber ones whose somehow wide in shock.

"How about putting Miss Smith in the Technicals?" Grabbing a chalk she started writing the girl's name on to the board. "She's very knowledgeable of musical plays and she's also very talented in computer." She stated as she put Cole's whole name on the board.

As she finished writing her gaze fell upon the position written above the technicals.

Stage manager and props.

A smirk shaped upon her lips that immediately vanished right after she act to scan the crowd.  Peeping through some of her so called 'friends' who was waiting for their names to be called so that they could rule around however they want to.

"Miss Jones could do the trick."

Sonia's attention was immediately grabbed from her book to the girl scribbling her name infront in a haste.

"That's a lot of work." She complained which was easily solved by Caroline by giving her a small sly smile.

"Then I'll let you have an assistant. Choose ome and I'll write the name."  With Sonia's attempts to protest put up to a failure, she begrudgingly states the name of her assistant which Dianne much to the girls happiness of having to be kept away from the spotlight.

As Caroline continues to write names on the board putting off one role for the backstage after another, their class reach into one difficult matter that their class. would obviously put up a commotion for.

The Play itself.

"I suggest something in Disney." Sonia suggested. "Their easy to follow over and the only thing that we'll need will be the time to rehearse."

"Disneys are for kids." Dianne's eyes immediately went in to glare at whoever was opposing to her friend's idea which she knows would be Erika. And she's not wrong.

"How about The greatest Showman?" Cheerfully she suggested.

"The greatest showman is obviously popular these days which will make it the top line for the most used play by the other classes." Lucas, the most authoritative guy in class states in opposition. "I think the Disney idea is better since they, after all held a lot of musical movies."

"Anyone else's idea?" Caroline questioned but seeing as though Lucas has already spoken, she knew that the decision is already final. And the deafening silence of the classroom made her decision clear. "Disney it is. What movie?"

"Into the woods?"

"Alladin"

"How about the little mermaid."

One after another suggestions came flooding from one corner of the room to the other.

"Enough!" But all came to a stop as Sonia raised her voice from the back. "If you're suggesting into the woods you gotta make sure that us from the props section won't have a hard time with those things. The intro could take us the  whole interval of the given time for us."

Her opposition immediately made Lucas thought the same.

"If we make Alladin, the set of the 'A whole new world' theme would be too risky." He stated also declining the idea of it. "And if we do the little mermaid---"

"We'd look stupid." Sonia butted in earning a chuckle from the teacher. "How about suggesting sir Troy?"

Troy's eyes landed on Sonia's green ones expecting a grin from the girl as if she's joking but the girls dead serious face made him swallow an upcoming sarcasm back and smiled.

"Well, is there nothing else playing on your mind miss Jones?"

The girl stops, thinking for a moment. "I thought Snow White could do the trick but the songs are limited and Cinderella as well. I was thinking of Mulan but the costumes is too expensive for the budget."

"Well, I guess you're thoughts are drained." The teacher smiled. "Well, this may be just a suggestion. I'll leave it all to you if you follow it or not."

Sonia raise a brow in anticipation waiting for what her teacher is about to say next. Did she not expect to smile after hearing her teacher's suggestion.

"But if its Disney then how about Beauty and the Beast?"
