Chapter 13 - Library

Third Person's Point of View

"Ma'am Piez is giving us a long quiz in language tomorrow." Dianne sighed as she prepared her stuff to leave for the day.

"Which is what I so dread about."  Sonia replied with a grunt fixing the strap of her black oversized backpack hanging one its strap on her shoulder.

"Don't you guys have anything else to be worried about?" The two looked at Cole in confusion who only sigh in realization. "Language isn't our only subject yknow. We have to fix our research?"

Upon hearing this, Sonia immediately scoffed in annoyance as Dianne 'tsk'ed beside her.

"A total pain."

The three once again sighed.

"You're not going home?" Rianne's question caused the three to hastily walked out of the classroom with a smile as they decided to bid each other goodbye.

————

"Good morning." A yawn came out of Sonia as she greeted the girls talking gleefully in front of her sitting at the circled chair they formed. "What's up?"

"You also didn't get any sleep huh?" Dianne sighed grabbing a brush to fix the blonde girl's hair whose already covering half of her face.

"I have my reasons." Sonia replied trying to brush off the fact that she was awake all night listening to his father's drunken rants. "Has anyone studied so far?"

"I did." Dianne answered while braiding the sides of Sonia's hair. "But I didn't get it. At all."

The four of them laughed at each others negligence yet instantly died down after being swallowed by a comfortable silence.

"How about going to the Lib to study together." Sonia suggested with a smile to which Cole replied by looking at her with a knowing gaze.

"Are we gonna spend all our times reading books again Ms. Jones?"

Sonia immediately panicked raising a hand in a defending manner. "We're not. We're gonna study right?"

Cole's knowing gaze didn't leave the girls figure but it was replaced with an assured smile.

"I think its also a good idea."

Sonia inwardly cheered giving Dianne a cheeky grin which the girl replied by doing a high five.

"But we're there to study okay?" Rianne's sudden statement made a pout to form on Sonia and Cole's lips as Rianne only shook her head in disapproval.

Their conversation was cut short when the sound of the bell ringing was heard from the intercom of the school and the girls fix their seats upon seeing Mr. Prune approaching from the hallways.

————

"Yara! You coming?" Sonia called out from the doorway turning to look at the Orange haired girl that was talking to Felix and his friend Kevin. The girl eyed Sonia for a few seconds before slowly shaking her head with a small smile.

Sonia looked a bit taken aback by her response but didn't take any offense towards it, instead the girl shrugged off and went on ahead in thoughts that Yara might not want to be with the current circle since she's enjoying Felix's company more.

The sound of the shuffling from the books of the library can be heard as well as the murmurs of the people around.

"So, where do you guys want to sit?" Cole questionned glancing at the girls beside her. Her amber eyes scanning the two people beside her whose eyes are examining the books around them. Cole's brows furrowed upon noticing one of her friends missing. "And where the hell is Sonia?"

"What are you taking about?" Rianne replied gesturing something from beside her with a smile. "She's right here--- wait, she's not!"

Cole grunted in annoyance instantly walking at the corners of the library to look for her unkempt friend, and immediately spotted her sitting at one of Isles of the library's corner hidden by the two bookshelf as she sat on the floor at the middle already engrossed in a thick book she's holding. The shuffling coming from Cole snapped the girl out of its dazed trance immediately looking up to gaze at the black haired girl letting out a sheepish grin in the process.

"I'm sorry. I can't help it."

Cole sighed, approaching the blonde about to pull her out from her seat but caught herself up in a struggle when Sonia held on to one of the shelves.

"We have to leave."

"No."

The two bickered as Sonia tried to pry herself away from Cole's grasp.

"Wow, you guys have found a good spot."

The two stopped in their tracks their eyes falling on Rianne and Dianne whose watching the tug of war they're doing.

"Of course, I pick this one myself." Sonia smirked after recovering from the state they were found. Sneering at Cole who only scoffed and took a seat on the floor beside her. Not any later, Rianne and Dianne followed in suit taking a seat in front of Cole and Sonia flipping their notes open to read it as their circle was immediately swallowed by a comfortable silence that the four didn't seem to mind.

"Hello!"

Swiftly, Sonia looked up from her book, her green eyes meeting Caroline's purple ones that was scanning their circle with a smile.

"Oh, Hey Caroline!" Dianne greeted gleefully upon noticing the girl's presence.

Caroline didn't put any sense of uncertainty in her actions when she took a seat beside Rianne who raised a brow at her.

"Sluts not allowed."

"Hey Rianne. Don't be rude!" Sonia called off with a slight titter linking in her words.

"Yes Rianne. Stop. You're being Riudde."

The joke come unprepared to received by the three listening which immediately caused them to laugh in a whisper.

"Dianne I just realized but you're so cute almost like an elementary kid." Caroline cooed to the girl beside her upon noticing her silenced presence.

"I don't know if that was a compliment but I think its not." The girl retorted with a snort.

"Oh, that was a compliment." Caroline insisted. "Oh. Why don't you become my daughter!"

Dianne raise a brow at her. "Yes, sure. You'll be my mother."

"F*cker." Dianne and Sonia looked at each other upon spouting the same words and watch as Caroline act all shocked before bursting out in a fit of. laughter.

"I guess, I'm your motherf*cker." The pink haired girl declared proudly grabbing a book of Home Economics beside her handing it over to the confuse looking Dianne. "And you should study accounting."

Dianne only shook her head grabbing the book from Caroline's grasp who, stared at her with a smile as she looked at the book and deadpanned.

"Accounting. 1, 2, 3! Accounting."

Sonia snickered eyeing Dianne who was snickering as well.

"Would that suffice motha?" Dianne asked in attempt to act all slang. To which Caroline found very amusing.

"No, child." Caroline answered also following Dianne's accent from earlier. "You still have a lot to learn."

From one of the shelves a certain book caught her interest.

"Hmmm..." Grabbing the book, she showed it to the four who was looking at her in curiosity. It was a book about accounting. The real deal. "This is the first book I have published, and all the list of my sugar daddies are in here. Its called, Sugar Daddy 101."

Her face looked so serious while telling such an absurd joke that it didn't help Sonia and the rest to stop their laughter. Slowly, Caroline opened the first page of the book immediately greeted by an old man.

"This... is my first sugar daddy." The girl said stroking the picture with affection.

"What the hell..." Sonia muttered in confusion and uncertainty.

"I broke up him because he's loud when we do it." Sonia slap a hand on her forehead.

'Really?' Cole thought to herself with a deadpan.

"And this is my second sugar daddy." Showing the photo of a man in his 30's which was a black. "And I broke up with him its because he keeps doing this when we do s*x." She stated motioning a hand movement where she does a peace sign and keeps shaking it up and down.

"What the hell!" Cole stated with a laugh.

They were continuing with the book for a while now until the bells of the library runged indicating the time.

"Well, to be continued then." Caroline stated offering a hand to Rianne and Dianne who took it wholeheartedly as she pulled the two up. "Hurry up or we'll be late for ma'am Piez's class."

The five of them run from the stairs of the library and as they reach the classroom, Sonia stopped in her tracks.

"Sonia, what's wrong?" Cole questioned, her state also catching the attention of the others.

"We forgot it."

"Forgot what?"

"We forgot to study guys!"

The five of them looked at each other before their gaze drift to Ma'am Piez who just entered the classroom.

'Uh-oh...' They all thought to themselves as they watch the giant scribble of the word "Quiz" at their board with a panic.
