As soon as I touched her hand (YN) collapsed. Shock clouded my judgment and I immediately thought of the worst. Death. Or not. I have no idea how humans work.
It's much easier to see them as lumps of meat with a consciousness. But there is no denying that they can move and breathe. That they are indeed alive. They are strong, but so vulnerable and weak at the same time.
For example, this one couldn't even handle me peeking into her memories. And the worst part is I wasn't able to get any helpful information. For some reason I also felt
something odd in the back of my mind as if someone had entered without my permission. Which is utterly impossible.
A sharp pulsing pain in my head shattered my train of thoughts. I curled to the floor. It felt like sharp knives jabbing into my brain. This is definitely not normal. I've never seen this reaction in a human before.
When the pain finally lessened to a faint pulsing, he stood up and carried (YN) and set her onto the couch. He saw no point in watching (YN) sleep, so he decided to rest for a bit. He sat on the armchair across the couch.
He was startled by the human, who had begun to cry in its sleep.
It was an interesting sight. You don't see people crying in their sleep here. People can't really dream, let alone sleep here. Especially with all their nightmares constantly haunting them in their wake. At least she could look forward to escaping whatever she was running away from.
In fact, she reminded him of a time, long ago, when he himself was as broken as her. It was a dark time for him, and his brothers.
(YN) began to struggle in her sleep. Her tears rolled down her cheeks more often. Small droplets of sweat formed on her forehead. After some of that she began to toss and turn.
"What the–"
But then out of the blue she stopped. she was no longer crying, or struggling.
"Without her making all that noise, I can finally go back to rela–" He was cut off by (YN)'s Sudden waking.
"Finally!" I grunted, then I walked over to her, "You were crying. In your sleep."
"How'd I fall asleep? What did you do?"
"Hey, don't start blaming me. All I did was hold your hand, and then you fainted!" Scared the shit out of me."
"I'm sorry."
'Huh!?' I thought
"My memories. Take them — Give them to all the whirlwinds, tornados, and storms." She breathed, "To all the hurricanes, typhoons, and gales."
"H-how do you know this?"
'What the hell?'
(YN) continued, "For that is who I am and forever will be… The swift winds of heaven."
I took a seat next to (YN), 'How is this possible? No one else heard his last words. I must be dreaming! I never even told my brothers about this. How is it that she knows about these times? No human was even alive at that time.'
"I'm so sorry Claude," (YN) wept, "We thought we could solve it by talking to Micheal. He wouldn't listen to us."
Suddenly the human pounced on me, "Sorry our death caused you to grieve. Nobody deserves this, not even you," She knows. Suddenly all the memories I have spent so long trying to keep locked up, broke me.
I did what not even a crazy demon would have done. I hugged a human for comfort, and while I was at it I comforted myself by letting her feel the sharp edges of my broken heart.
This feeling, it was an odd one. Like something I've felt before but can't quite remember. She was warm, and her embrace felt slightly less, foreign than I had expected it to be.
After a while, I asked, "(YN). Tell me, what did you see?"
"I saw a war. Up in the clouds, Michael and another man led the two armies. We tried to reason with Michael bu–,"
"We?"
"Oh. Uh, I guess I was in Tephras' body, but it feels as if it were my own body, I guess why I'm using we, us, and our."
"Oh, okay." Never in my long ass life had and I heard something like this.
"Yeah. So I guess we wanted him to stop this battle, but… We were hurt, a-and we fell. Then you were there! You caught us. And we told you to let our memories free."
I sighed
"I-I'm sorry, these must be painful memories."
"It's okay." Again I sighed, I understand what she's trying to say. I have to talk to him, "I will be back soon." I was out the door.
