Fri. con't.
"Not a day goes by that I don't regret killing him. But, then again I hate myself for letting Vena go alone. I should've been there sooner," he pauses and looks at her. "Ren, he killed many of my coworkers at the Church and when he killed Vena, I couldn't let him keep going. Vena was my first love. She meant everything to me. I'm sorry that you knew him. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. I'm sorry you saw it. And, I'm sorry for your loss of your Oliver but I'm not sorry for the loss of the Oliver that I knew. He was the monster, whether you want to admit it or not," Takeshi lets out a long sigh and studies her before putting the sunglasses back on.
"I'm sorry Ren. Good luck with Nathan. I hope he makes you truly happy," he starts to walk around her and she moves out of the way so he can leave the room. Ren stands there, tears streaming down her face as she stares at the floor.
"Ren? Ren are you ok?" Nathan's voice fills Ren's ears a few minutes later. She snaps back to reality and turns to face him. She was still standing near the doorway of the room and now Nathan stood in the doorway. Her tears had dried but her face was still slightly red.
"Hm?" She stares at him in confusion.
"Sweetie we have class," he gives her a small smile and wraps one of his arms around her.
"Oh, yeah. Let's go," Ren gives him a small smile before starting out of the room towards their next class, quickly moving out of his grasp.
"Ren! Are you ok?" He rushes after her.
"Yeah. I'm fine," Ren nods.
As they sit at their desks in the classroom, Eclipse walks over to them while Maiman trails behind her.
"Have you guys seen Takeshi? He texted me that he was going to meet me in class but, I haven't seen him," Eclipse looks at Nathan, worry in her voice.
"No, I haven't. Ren?" He turns to look at Ren who shakes her head no before glancing at Maiman.
"Ok, well, I'm sure he's just late or something," Eclipse sighs before walking back to her seat. Maiman studies Ren for a few seconds before walking out of the classroom. Ren watches her go and lets out a long sigh.
As Maiman reaches Arhiyan's house, she sneaks in through the back door. As the door closes behind her, she turns into her human form before running upstairs.
"Takeshi?" She calls as she reaches the top of the stairs. Music blares from Takeshi's bedroom where his door is shut. Maiman walks over to the door before reaching for the doorknob and trying it.
"Takeshi let me in," she calls after finding out that it's locked. The only response that she gets is from the music.
"Brother!" She knocks harshly on the door. The music quickly stops and the sound of scuffling comes from the other side.
"Yeah, hey," Takeshi opens the door, still in his school clothes.
"Why'd you leave?" Maiman pushes her way into the room.
"I didn't feel good. I didn't want to be there because, basically, I showed Ren," he lets out a long sigh as he closes the door and walks over to his bed.
"What do you mean?" Maiman studies him with confusion.
"So, I was waiting for you and Eclipse to get back with your food and Ren walked into the room. She asked me who Vena was and then we argued about Oliver so I walked up to her and showed her the memory, or, what really happened," Takeshi sighs as he lays down on his back.
"Takeshi! Seriously? Why would you do that?" Anger began to raise in her voice.
"Because I'm tired of her saying and acting like I'm the bad guy when Oliver was the real monster. I'm tired of being the bad guy. I'm tired of being the monster, even if I am one," Takeshi says before he stuffs his face into his pillow.
"Ok," Maiman lets out a long sigh. "Are you ok?"
"Yeah. I'm just kind of glad that I got to show her the truth," he turns his head to look at her.
"Oh brother," Maiman walks over to him before kissing him on the forehead. "I'm going to go make you some soup ok?"
"Thank you sis," Takeshi sighs.
"It's what older sisters do," she laughs.
"You're older by a year!" He quickly laughs in response.
"I'm still older!" Maiman laughs as she walks out of the room.
