"So the project is due in two days. Do you want to go to your house and work on it tonight?" Eclipse looks at Takeshi as they walk along the edge of the forest after school.
"Yeah, sure. We can," Takeshi nods in response as Maiman trails behind them.
"Brother, sister," a voice sends chills down his back and he quickly stops walking. The voice causes Maiman to get close to Eclipse, still in her wolf form.
"Who…" Eclipse stops in confusion. Ryland walks out from around a tree in front of them with a smirk on his face. Takeshi immediately pulls Eclipse behind him with a low growl.
"What do you want?" He glares at his brother.
"Just wanted to come see how you're doing," Ryland shrugs.
"Yeah, sure," Takeshi growls as Maiman stands at his feet, her wolf eyes glaring at her other brother.
"Takeshi who is this?" Eclipse whispers into Takeshi's ear.
"Wow. Seems like you already got a new girlfriend. What happened to that Ren girl?" Ryland smirks as he studies her.
"Why are you here Ryland? What do you want?" Takeshi rumbles.
"A brother can't visit his siblings?" Ryland raises an eyebrow.
"No. He can't. Not if he's you. Now what do you want?" As Takeshi speaks, Maiman lets out a low growl.
"You want the honest truth? Or…" Ryland starts.
"The truth, now!" Takeshi's patience was obviously running out.
"I came to kill you," Ryland shrugs, causing Eclipse to let out a small gasp.
"Try me," Takeshi growls as a small smirk crosses his face.
"Sounds good to me," Ryland smirks in return and starts towards him. Takeshi quickly shoves Eclipse out of the way before jumping into the air, jumping right over his brother. Ryland quickly turns and starts at him again, this time grabbing the collar of Takeshi's shirt and slamming him into the ground.
"Takeshi!" Eclipse gasps before beginning to start towards them. Maiman quickly moves in front of her, blocking her path. "Maiman! I need to stop them." With this, Maiman shakes her head no and nudges her back.
"I'm gonna kill you, and I can't wait to feel your body go limp," Ryland continues.
"Do it, I dare you," Takeshi laughs back quietly. The two keep fighting and it becomes obvious that Takeshi is barely fighting back. Ryland wrestles his brother to the ground where he pins him and begins to pull out a knife.
"Let him go Ryland," a woman's voice growls. Ryland stops and looks up, locking eyes with Ember who stood over them now with a gun pointed at his head. He studies her and the gun before slowly getting up and running off, leaving Takeshi lying on the ground covered in cuts and bruises.
"Takeshi!" Eclipse rushes around Maiman and kneels next to Takeshi. Ember approaches them and studies Takeshi before turning to Maiman.
"Go to the Church and get May, she'll help us get him back so we can fix him up," she gives Maiman a small smile and Maiman nods before running off. After a few minutes May and Maiman come back and they all help get Takeshi to one of the infirmaries in the Church. They get him settled in a room where May sits next to him as he lays on the bed.
"Eclipse, Maiman, we need to talk," Ember looks at Eclipse and Maiman who was now in her human form. The two nod and follow Ember into the hallway where they close the door.
"He barely fought back Ember," Maiman says with a worry filled voice.
"I know, I saw," Ember lets out a sigh.
"He hasn't been doing well recently mom. In school he got in a really bad fight with a guy named Nathan. He's a new guy who got paired with Ren and they're friends. At first he fought back but something happened and he just gave up," Eclipse adds.
"I know. One of the teachers told me about the fight but, he didn't go into too much detail about how bad it was," Ember nods.
"What do we do? I'm worried about him. He's acting like he doesn't care," Maiman shifts her weight.
"I'm not sure. The only thing I can think of right now is to keep an eye on him. Keep him out of harm's way until he moves on because I know it's Ren that's bothering him," Ember lets out a small, stressed sigh.
"Ok ma'am," Maiman nods.
