Yuuma confessed to me, which I accepted his feelings. While everyone is celebrating, Ryutenji appeared.
"Well, I was right, after all." Ryutenji said.
"Which is...?" Yuuma asked.
"People, will always find their way into their roles. While I made a wrong judgement back then, the two of you even found your way back together. This, I would say, is fate." Ryutenji said.
"What else do you want?" I asked.
"Is it not appropriate for me to not celebrate the end of this world as well?" Ryutenji dropped a bomb.
"What?! The end?" Kaito, Hikaru and Haruno exclaimed.
"It certainly is. The fact that, when this world ends, everyone here will have the exact memories they made here. But for you, Yuuma-san. You're to be departing away from this world." Bitter words came from Haruko, who certainly knows everything in this world. To suddenly remember that Yuuma is already dead, everyone around collapsed to their knees.
"Oh yeah... He died in an accident..." Hikaru said, just like he had lost hope.
"That sounds like a real deal... I've heard it before. My best bud, Yuuma is gone." Kaito said, holding in his tears.
"Ricchan... I felt like I hate you for no reason, I'm so confused..." Haruno said, she put her hand on her chest, as if she is feeling weird.
"Well... Behold. The climax of your story, slowly descending to the end. There is still twelve hours, before the world ends. Prove to me that you're just like Jun've mentioned. People live on carrying the will of the dead." Ryutenji said, before leaving.
"Live on, carrying the will of the dead..." Yuuma murmured.
"Guys... I know I'm not in the place of saying this, but listen. We have twelve hours left to say our goodbyes to Yuuma. Let's send him off with our smiles, can we?" I said. All of them stopped crying and nodded.
"Well, let's get off to somewhere fun!" Kaito said.
"Before that, can we head to a place? I have someone I wanted to meet." I asked. Yuuma gulped.
"Oh, so soon? Are you going to meet his parents?" Kaito said, so that's what he thought. I shook my head, though that actually showed up in my mind.
"The place I wanted to go is the hospital where we met Ryujii." I said.
"A hospital?" Kaito asked, as we reached the hospital, I asked them to wait.
"Indeed, I know a doctor there." I said, before heading to the receptionist, trying to get an appointment with Dr. Hiro.
Before the receptionist even rejected me, Dr. Hiro showed up.
"Hmm...? That name you mentioned is supposed to be me is it?" He said.
"Yes, Dr. Hiro. Remember me? We met over there before." I asked him. It was back in the world which Ame created for our trials.
"Oh, you're right, we met before. You didn't seem as depressed as before, did something happened?" Dr. Hiro remembered me. I'm glad.
"I accepted the feelings from someone which I couldn't find the courage to do so back then. However, even though he will disappear after this world ends, he will remain in my heart forever." I said. He was shocked for a while, perhaps about another world is occurring without him knowing, it is complicated, somehow. If we were in this world for a long time like a year and a half, Yuuki-chan could have not left the hospital yet.
"If this world is still running, then the plan for sending Yuuki-chan overseas..." Dr. Hiro also acknowledged the fact. I brushed off the moody atmosphere by asking him about anything happened recently.
"I found love, just like Ryujii-kun and Yuuki-chan. I never noticed my surroundings, yet I found the one who was with me since the start. That feeling alone drove me forward. One day, I'll tell her how I feel." Dr. Hiro said. It's good to know that he even found the exit of his own labyrinth that blocked off everything around him. At least I knew who it was. I giggled, and bid him farewell, promising to visit him again when we got back.
"An old friend of yours?" Hikaru asked.
"Yes, without meeting him, I wouldn't even able to understand the importance of being alive." I replied. Yuuki-chan, a girl who wanted to be a normal girl, despite the fact that she was suffering from a disease that had no cure was taught to not give up in life. Even if she thought of giving up, at least, she views the world differently, and that is what filled her heart with happiness rather than depression.
"Oh, it's Ruri-chan!" Haruno pointed at a corner, she's following us?
"It was embarrassing to ask, I wanted to send Yuuma-kun off as well." Ruri said.
"Welcome to the party! We'll spend the last remaining hours together!" Kaito said. He seems like the type who gets hyped for no reason, just like Haruno. I looked at Haruno, she seems fond of Hikaru. Well, it seems like the same type of person sonetimes doesn't have the best chemistry together, I guess. Ruri on the other hand, follows Hikaru as well. Perhaps if Yuuma isn't popular as he is now, Hikaru would take the place huh?
We walked through the streets, having fun wherever we wanted to. We tried to live out this twelve hours without regrets. From cake shops to bubble tea stalls and karaoke as well, we sure enjoyed ourselves all day. At last we stopped by a shoreline, the winds were chilly, yet this is a good place for it's scenery. However, Ruri had to go, yet she didn't wanted to go. We were trapped in a routine, there's no helping it. We should part our ways here. Before we even leave, Ryutenji appeared.
"Well, I suppose this isn't like what you meant by sending Yuuma-kun off with smiles." He said.
"I still have a little authority in this world. Thanks to Jun who allowed me to work in Ame's shrine." He then added.
"Enjoy yourselves, as the time comes, you don't need to worry about your family. I just sent them back to their reality. They are literally not here at all." Ryutenji said.
"How about Yuuma's parents?!" I exclaimed.
"Well, I knew what you wanted to do, I sparred them. Prepare yourselves for a scolding." Ryutenji said with a cheeky smile. He walked away, before he disappears after a corner, he waved at us, saying goodbye to the all of us.
"So we can enjoy ourselves before we return to our bodies in reality, huh?" Kaito said. It was quite a while since they accepted the theory that they were merely just dreaming. Everything up to now, is just a dream. It was a good dream, after all, blessed by Ame herself.
We sat at the benches near the beach, talking our time away, we laughed, as well as yawned. No one wanted to lose a second with Yuuma.
"Rika, can we have a walk?" Yuuma stood up and asked.
"Sure, let's go." I replied. He grabbed my hand and started walking. I was pulled towards him, it's not like I was forced, but my legs moved on their own. We walked around, in our school uniforms, I think there are even more people being sent back to their respective worlds. As even patroling policemen are not even around.
"Rika, I... Love you!" Yuuma grabbed my shoulders, and said it right in front of me. I was shocked, but isn't this what I wanted to say all the time?
"Yuuma, I love you, I love you, I LOVE YOU!" I shouted. It sure startled our gang back there. But nothing of them matters, as I noticed, our eyes were already filled with tears. The tears accumulated and became droplets of tears, becoming heavy to stay put, they dropped off. Just like rain, it's... raining. It was unknown what happened next, our lips were already touching at the moment I realised. It was soft, and dreamy.
I was a long one I could say, but I'll remember that, forever. We went back to them, they noticed that I was shouting over there, it was embarrassing, but they laughed away about it. Although it was all laugh and fun, there is always a sadness concealed in our hearts. Constantly worrying about something else. This made us selfish, and allowed us to overlook the important things in life. This is also the reason why, life is wonderful, yet impossible to perfect, but easy to be moderate.
We looked at the moonless sky, though it was always empty, we always know that there was a moon in the sky, just like how we know, Yuuma will always remain in our hearts, never fade away. The time has come, twelve hours passed, despite we tried to enjoy a whole day out together, it still feels insufficient, and we hoped for more.
"Rika, thank you... Although I didn't actually know what will happen to me soon, but I'll always remember you. If it's possible, I'll watch over you. Promise me, please find your own happiness. You deserved it." Yuuma said. Holding in my tears, it was a heavy rain, not just me, the all of us started crying. We don't really want to send Yuuma off. This is a foolish wish from us. However, it's time to leave. I smiled at him, so did he. I tried gripping his hands as hard as I can, it doesn't work. I looked at Yuuma, my teary eyes, I could tell that he's smiling.
"Rika this is farewell, promise me, please find your own happiness." Yuuma said, I braced myself and gave him a smile, a smile that came out when a person is crying. Could it be a rainbow?
Slowly, I let go his hands. My surroundings started to vanish, a flash of blinding light engulfed us. Although it was too hard to open my eyes, I saw Ame.
"Good job..." A voice said. I felt my head being pat, what was that for, anyways? Before the light fades away, the mirage I saw back then before everything happened, a girl with longer hair, was actually me. What a pain... Well, now that I've told him what I wanted to tell, I felt at ease. My surroundings slowly became pitch black. It's the end, of the dream.
