Chereads / Cold Assassin Scorned / Chapter 2 - Kidnapped (2)

Chapter 2 - Kidnapped (2)

Stop. I can't afford to freak out now, I have to survive. One soul has already left this body and I don't plan on it losing a second one.

My last memory is very foggy, but I went to sleep in a hotel room during a job and woke up here.

In the end, I decided I was murdered and am now in the body of Elizabeth Vassey. I suspect my uncle but can't single him out just yet. My code name is Winter and it has been my name since I became an assassin. I have never found anyone who rivals my abilities, as I was the best in the business. I was raised normally with a loving mother and father until the age of five when they died mysteriously in a car crash. My rich uncle took me in and raised to be an assassin to kill off his political enemies. I had to fight for my life every day from my backstabbing cousins to my sadistic uncle, I started to feel less and less to protect myself until I was numb. Maybe that is why I am the best in the business.

I was never a very emotional child and other children would make fun of me for it often, saying I never smiled or laughed. It didn't bother me much but it did bother my parents. I felt bad for them, they wanted a giggly and stupid little tot, that just wasn't me. They still loved me though and would work with whatever emotional responses I would give them, although there were few. I loved them too, I suppose. Meh, it was so long ago who even cares.

I pulled myself from out of my head, my body will keep dropping in temperature if I keep these wet clothes on. I took the black uniform off of the younger man who was closer to my size. The uniform consisted of black cargo pants and a black tee-shirt which were still many sizes too big on me. Regardless, it would have to do. I put it on and wrapped a strip of clothes from my dress around the waist as a belt, so the pants wouldn't fall down.

The room was fairly small so I easily spotted the door from across the room. I opened the door just enough so I could peak outside and see a dark hallway. Judging by the setup it seemed Elizabeth was being held in an abandoned house of some sort. I didn't want to stay long but I also needed information. So I closed the door and turned back to the half-naked man on the floor. I carried him unconscious to the chair in the center of the room that Elizabeth had died in. I found the duct tape they had tied me with and tied him to the chair. I sat in a corner that I decided was the least wet place in the room and waited.

My new body was very weak and frail which would be annoying if I had to fight someone head-on. Luckily, I had been in similar situations before and was used to the conditions that the body suffered. Elizabeth had been starved and beaten from the looks of it. I looked at the scars on her wrists and ankles and felt wronged. I didn't understand why because I understood and had beaten and starved plenty of people. Maybe it was because I was in her body now but I felt a great injustice deep inside. Is this why I was here, did Elizabeth want revenge so bad that she reached out for help. All I knew was that I was going to help her and get back at all of those who wronged her.

"Ughh" I heard and was ripped from my thoughts with a new sense of purpose I had never felt before.

"Hello," I said as sweetly as I could "may I ask your name?" One thing I was used to was pretending, I could fool everyone into thinking I was someone else.

Still, in his groggy state, he mumbled, "Umm, Mark" he couldn't see me from the dark corner I was sitting in.

"Are you okay? Do you know where we are?" I said keeping that sickly sweet voice.

"Umm I think so, last I remember we were right outside the capital." He said with confusion, "Wait who are you?" He finally started to come to his senses.

"I see." I stood up and started to walk towards him. "Don't worry Mark, we can help each other get out of here alive."

"What are you talking about" His eyes were finally adjusting to the darkness and started to look at me in front of him.

I kneeled down and put my face close to his with an emotionless smile, his face looked shocked as he recognized me "You..."

I then whispered, "I have been so lonely for a week, so if you have a little chat with me then maybe... I won't kill you." That dark feeling inside me that wanted revenge felt good as his face became more serious and his eyes widened with fear. "Now then, where you and your friend there the only people here in this fine establishment?"

He looked to where I was gesturing and saw his comrade lying lifeless on the floor. He swallowed his hear and responded, "Yes, this was just a pit stop we were supposed to deliver the hostage to the boss."

"Who is this boss of yours?" I asked innocently

"I don't know we are apart of a hired criminal agency we saw the job and it paid good money so we did it. The only contact we had was a text message saying your address and where to deliver you too." He responded quickly.

"I see." If these guys are just disposable they probably don't know more than this and the number most likely isn't trackable. "I am a lady now, where might I get some food and money?"

He seemed relieved that the questioning was ending, " There is a kitchen downstairs it has food."

"And the money? I mean you did take me quite a way away from my home. It is only fair you give me away back." I said as I stood up.

"Our car is outside along with our wallets, the keys should be in there." He said defeated.

I started to leave and open the door when he asked, "Aren't you going to let me go?"

"Oh dear, I don't believe that was part of the agreement," I said dropping the sweet voice and closing the door.
