Father Time, the God of time himself. Just seeing him cause a strong shiver to run down my spine. I felt an everlasting trail of fear as he said, "Speak! Why shouldn't I punish you for your crime?" Crime? I just barely started my time traveling in time. So with fear still coursing through me, I said with all the will power I had, "I still had time, even if it was only a few seconds. You dragged me here before my time was up. That means this was your fault."
He started laughing if as I told the world's best joke. I have no idea what to say at this point. "Young man, that is the first time anyone has ever told me I caused them to break a Law of Time. Tell me your name and explain how I am also at fault, " he said looking interested in every way possible.
"My name is Soran Miles. You dragged me here in the middle of time traveling, you stop me from finishing the process in order to get back to the present." I said this casually to him but, in my mind, I was panicking hoping he believes it.
"I see, that was indeed true. This is quite a situation. But I still must punish you," he said with a face full of disappointment. "Even though I am also at fault, you still broke a Law of Time. For your punishment, I will go easy on you. Your punishment will be a curse of reversed time. Over the period of two, you will progressively get younger. But if you are willing to do this old man a favor, I will undo the curse as a thank you, " he said with a tone of happiness.
As terrifying as that sounds, I realized that he would give me a way out of all of that by simply doing him a favor. Getting younger over a period of five years sounds like I would eventually die from deaging too much. So with a small sigh of relief I asked, "What do you need me to do?"
"I simply want you to find my Pocket Watch. I lost it across both time and space. Every time, I find it, someone else seems to find it too. A Human picks it up and gains a new power that either allows them to travel through time or distorted space. Everyone except you seemed to have bad intentions with these powers they have been gifted with." When he said that he looked disappointed.
Knowing of my past uses of the power I tried to warn him, "But I'm no better than them i-'
"Yes I know, you were a cheating gambler. But is simply know an outcome, really cheating or is it's just probability. You see even with the ability to travel through time, the outcome could have still changed."
I don't get it. What does that mean?
"Anyways, my Pocket Watch. You see it has traveled through space to different worlds and time to different time periods. I have located the next place in space but not an exact place in time. I simply want you to listen for its ticks. If you hear it that means it's close by. I want you to search for it before it disappears. I will send you to the next and closest place in time I can find but if you fail on the first try, I can not move you to another time period. You will simply have to wait for me to find it again and you will travel through time for it. Of course, the Laws of Time still apply, " he said as if he knew the outcome already.
"I will give you one gift. It may not be of much help but, it will motivate you. On your right hand, you will see a date and time. You must find Watch before this time or the curse will kill you."
He seems displeased to say that. Maybe he doesn't want to kill me with his punishment.
"Now, it is time for you to go. For the next five years, you will spend your life in a new dimension. You will live on a planet called treah. And the time I will be sending you to is February 8th, 2040."
Wait I'm going to a new world too. This sounds like a fantasy situation. I just hope it's not some old looking setting with no electricity.
"Brace yourself. For the way to get this world is unpleasant."
"Wait wha---"
I'm in pain. A lot of pain. H-he threw me. He picked me up and threw me into this world.
???: Hey kid, you okay? It looks like you fell off a building or something.
