Chapter 1 - Prologue

"The Goddess Adara is in labor! Someone alert God Izotz!"

The palace was in chaos. There was soon to be another little God-Child running along the onyx halls of the Cloud Palace and everyone was relying on an adrenaline rush. The maids and butlers weren't complaining though. They liked the two Gods that were soon to have a child.

"Where's my wife?! Take me to my wife!" boomed Izotz in his icy voice and piercing glare that contrasted his messy attire. He was awoken from a rare nap and his ice sculpture of a body was peering through the gaps in his pajamas. An audible sigh of admiration and relief could be heard throughout the hall as the servants led him to his hard at work wife.

"Push your highness! Just a little more. I can see the baby's head!"

"Ahhhhhhhh!" screamed the beautiful woman on the bed. Her hair was ablaze and her eyes were different shades of orange and red. Which could be seen as she opened them briefly to glare at her husband who'd just rushed into the room.

"YOU FUCKER! YOU DID THIS AND STILL HAVE THE GALL TO BE LATE! SEE IF I DON'T KICK YOUR SHIN WITH MY FOOT AFTERWARDS!!" she angrily, but painfully shouted at her husband while throwing him a handful of fire, which he dodged.

"I know, I know. I'm sorry, I'll get someone to bring you your favorite human snacks later." he softly and slowly replied. He had experienced her kicks before and frankly, he'd rather not deal with the ensuing pain. But she'd long forgotten him in her writhing in pain moment. Just as the baby was born.

"It's a girl." the maid who helped deliver it said and handed her to Adara and Izotz. Adara smiled at the baby girl and looked at her husband who was smiling down at his wife and child.

"Well, she's cold like her father. Doesn't even cry and look, she's got your pinky in her tiny hand. So for her first name, let's call her Frya." the Goddess Adara breathlessly whispered to Izotz.

"For her second name, let it be Nox. In honor of your brother Nox, who gave us the chance to become husband and wife." replied Izotz softly, as he knew it was a tender spot for Adara, who expressed her quiet agreement to their daughter's name.

Moments passed and the servants had all moved to wait outside to let them enjoy the moment alone. But the initial silence was cut abruptly as the Goddess Adara cried out in agony. The cry that reverberated throughout the castle walls, was so terribly mournful that all within the castle walls wept profusely and even her husband, Izotz, the Ice God, had to do everything in his power to refrain from weeping. Yet, his tears flowed down his cheeks at an alarming rate. He wept silently for what his wife had discovered.

Adara, being the daughter of the Fire God and the Seer Goddess, could see visions of the future. Though, these visions would occur randomly and only applied to the near future.

She caught a glimpse of a toddler, no more than a couple months old, ablaze and scorched. While her tiny body was slowly being encased in a layer of frost. The two sides weren't harming her and instead, it was the clashing of the two in the middle that caused pain to the child. Eventually, the child stopped breathing and Adara came out of it.

"This wasn't supposed to happen. Our two sides should've been suppressed by the concoction I had consumed before she was conceived. Galia said so, she-" and she stopped as she looked at her husband with a look of understanding. The two knew what had occurred, and their taste for vengeance skyrocketed, but the child had to be protected first.

"Send for Axel. I need to speak with him." Izotz ordered the servant outside the door who proceeded to carry out the command.

Izotz hugged Adara who held Frya and cried until she could no more. They knew that in order for Frya to survive, they'd need a way to control one of the two powers until she knew how to control both of them.

And so with heavy hearts, they made the Ice Encasing Necklace.
