I wasn't sleeping when she walked in and demanded to know about me. I couldn't tell that it was just my ears playing tricks on me, or she genuinely sounded concerned about my health.
It was nothing but three words, yet they mattered a lot to me. I could feel her eyes boring into me as her light steps drew closer to me. It didn't require me to take a second guess about who it was when she slipped under the covers, and laid down right to me. I knew it was her all along.
Every inch of my existence was demanding to see her, yet I kept my eyes close. I knew that it would only take her a fraction of second to change her mind and walk away from me when all I needed was her presence, next to me, in my arms.
I couldn't give her any excuse to run away from me now that she was with me again. Even if it was only meant to last for a couple of minutes, I didn't mind it. I wanted to cherish every single second of those minutes. So, I kept my eyes shut.
