I was on my way back to the dorms. I had my eyes fixed on my own feet. They seemed to have a mind of their own as they continued to follow the muddy track which was cut through the trees. Even when it was covered with dead leaves, I could tell that it was designed to pass through the trees in its own twisted ways.
It was no less than a wonder how the track was still in the same form as it was once decades ago. How was it that even after so many years, not a single tree had grown in between the trail, disrupting its flow which was in no way natural.
I knew it was absolute madness that instead of thinking about the girl who had just broken my heart, I was paying more attention to the dead leaves which were being crushed under my feet. But thinking about the track and my feet was one thing which was keeping my mind sane.
