I made my way across the field, walking as fast as my feet would allow. I didn't know what had come over me in that moment, urging me to make him feel better. The sunken look on his face, didn't settle well with his personality. The insecurities hiding in between the folds of his frown was tugging at the strings of my heart, irritating it.
But, what troubled my mind more was his lack of trust in my words. The struggle was evident in his eyes as his thoughts clashed against one another. All I knew in that moment was to make him feel better in his plight.
That is what pushed me forward, giving me the strength to take that space. I knew that my action alone, though it was just a kiss on his cheek, would bring up some problems for either of us. It's not like people there, especially the girls who had witnessed my brazen actions, would keep their mouth shut about the quarterback of the college's football team being kissed by the newbie girl.
