As his gaze shifted around the lab that was burnt, broken and covered in blood by his own making, he felt more satisfied than he had ever felt in his life.
Just how long had he wished for this moment?
How much has he suffered, bled, and wept within these accursed walls?
But no more.
His only regret right now, as he stood in a pool of the blood of his torturers, was that he felt joy for the wrong reasons.
He no longer longed for freedom.
He didn't even revel in the thrill of a successful act of vengeance.
They took those feelings away from him long ago, leaving only madness behind.
He turned towards their leader, who was sprawled on the floor, breathing heavily and asked him in a mocking tone.
"You're not going to beg for mercy?"
But there was no fear in that man's eyes, even in his final moments.
"Mercy?"
"Magic has no mercy child"
"It gifted mankind with the ability to bend the world to their every whim, Granted them power and wisdom beyond compare, and they used it only to gain 'more'"
"More wealth, more women, more power, more knowledge, or in my case, a longer life"
"I used my power to carve the answer that i seek right out of your body, no matter how much i needed to dig, and now you use yours to end my life for your own meaningless amusement"
And as he ended his speech, he burst in an insane fit of laughter.
"Have you finished saying your last words?"
He asked his torturer, already bored by his nonsensical words.
"Indeed, and it was so nice of you to wai"
*crunch*
His words ended abruptly as his head was smashed under his former lab rat's foot.
