"I have never worked with a model like you before. I'm sure you will make it big in the industry, love." Leo complimented her as he followed right behind her. Ashlyn didn't respond and kept walking. "Come on. Why so cold? How can you bear to ignore this handsome face…." He continued.
His assistant handed him a cold water bottle and he passed it to Ashlyn because he wanted to flatter her. At the same moment, Lake handed Ashlyn a milkshake and Ashlyn accepted it. She thanked Lake and left along with her.
Leo walked back with his assistant in the dressing room. He furrowed his eyebrows, confused as to why Ashlyn acted like that towards him. " Aren't I handsome? I'm popular and rich...what is there not to like about me?" He asked his manager.
His manager laughed. " Be careful. I heard she's quite powerful. She even got Li Zi to be her manager, just that is quite admirable." His manager told him. "If you want to bed her at least make sure to not piss her off." He suggested.
Leo rolled his eyes. " What kind of image do you have of me? I'm not planning to bed her! She's my friend's wife!" Leo defended himself. "Then why are you flirting with her?" His manager asked not at all convinced.
"Sure she's hot and Conner did abandon her but still our friendship comes first, and that's just wrong" Leo replied. "I'm just very interested in what happened while I was away. Did you see her just now? Were did that quiet girl go? I was very shocked and had to come and check it out!" Leo told him.
His manager shrugged. " You are so nosey." He mumbled and just when Leo was going to confront him, his phone started ringing. Leo paled when he saw the caller's ID.
"What's wrong-" His manager froze when he peeked at Leo's cell phone. "Crap!" Leo sighed and reluctantly answered. "You are a dead man." His manager mumbled as he exited the room.
Leo sighed when the call connected. "Give me the phone." He heard Conner's cold voice. "No. I'll talk to him!" He heard Mike's voice. "Mike," Conner warned and Mike sighed. "Just let me warn him before you do something rash," Mike told Conner and he agreed.
Leo sighed in relief when Mike greeted him. He didn't want to face Conner's anger. He already had a slight idea as to why he was called. "I'm going to get straight to the point Leo. Stay far...very far away from Ashlyn." Mike warned him on behalf of Conner.
Leo suddenly picked up some bravery and answered with a no. "I can't because I like her." He told Mike. Mike sighed. His friend had taken a very bad decision. This could have ended peacefully today but why did he have to do it. All of a sudden Conner had the phone and not Mike.
"Stay away from my wife or you will face the consequences," Conner warned Leo personally. Leo felt like playing around a bit more so he took a deep breath and answered. "What is the big deal? I don't understand what the problem is." He told Conner. "Flirting with my wife is a big problem," Conner replied.
Leo smirked in interest. 'Why is that you are so smitten by her?' He wondered and his interest in Ashlyn grew even more. "Oh..but you haven't even seen her for the past two years. Technically your marriage isn't even valid. That means I can flirt with her if I want to." Leo told him proudly.
" I haven't talked with your father for a while. How has he been?" Conner asked casually but Leo understood the hidden meaning behind his words. He gulped but he was this far and not willing to give up. " I will try but I have no guarantees." He told Conner and hung on him.
Inside his office back in LA, Conner pursed his lips into a thin line. " Cancel half of his jobs and make his life a thousand times harder for this month, until he learns his lesson," Conner ordered Mike.
Mike shook his head and took the phone from Conner's hand. " Just admit it. You are jealous." He teased. "Shut up." Conner ignored him and continued with his work. Earlier he was informed by his men of everything that had happened during the shoot. He was very proud of his woman and his mood was very bright until he heard about Leo.
He knows that his friend won't try to take Ashlyn from him (not that he would allow that to happen) but it still made him uncomfortable knowing that another man has his eyes on her. He sighed and controlled his urge to call her. He didn't want to come back to LA but he also didn't want to disturb his wife and her choices.
If she wants her space then he must give it to her. Aside from that, he used the past two years to be in his office in New York. He felt stupid because if he hadn't done that there wouldn't be a problem for him to stay there. But now he had to attend matters in LA.
Mike exited Conner's office and immediately called Leo back. "Bro, I'm sorry but get prepared for this month. You will face a lot of difficulties." He informed Leo. " Not again…." Leo sobbed pitifully. "It's all my fault. I was just curious." Leo admitted weakly. All the bravery he had earlier somehow disappeared and he complained to Mike about his newfound troubles.
Mike rubbed his temple and sighed. "This is all your fault! I told you tease him but not to take it this far. I just wanted to know if he would get jealous. If you promise to only treat Ashlyn as your friend and keep your distance I might be able to help you out." Mike told him and Leo immediately agreed.
"Actually no....I have a better idea." Mike stopped in his tracks with a grin of mischief.
