Chereads / [Dropped]Undead Lord / Chapter 4 - 4

Chapter 4 - 4

"I see that now all of you are worthless, I didn't expect you to survive the tribulation."

The zombie was kneeling before me with its head to the ground, I couldn't help but think of a knight bowing to their lord, is this what it wants?

"Stand up, with your new rank you shall get a name and an occupation, from here on out you will be called Grim, and you shall be my loyal knight!"

'It wasn't much but if that's what it wanted then why not let it, if anything it will only strive to please me more.'

By the end of my first year on this rock, four more undead passed their tribulations, on the other hand, most of my original 50 undead perished during their tribulations. But their essence didn't go too waste, the pile of ash they left behind condensed into stone traping the undead essence they collected over their time following me, these could be used to create some arrays and tools for other undead.

Undead were a scary force if left alone but they also had some pretty obvious weaknesses, first was their intelligence, they were too stupid for their own good witch opened up a bunch of other weaknesses. But in a world were dark gods hid while holy gods ruled, the undead were never allowed to pass beyond a certain point.

But undead had some pretty sick strengths, their basically limitless when it comes to cultivation, their limitless life allows them to repeatedly pads tribulations if their strength is strong enough, it was one of the reasons the undead caught my attention.

But we could no longer grow stronger on this island, my undead basically sucked this place dry of its undead essence and keeping the undead who erre still susceptible to the sun was getting hard as the undead essence wasn't enough to keep the undead essence filled mist for my army of 200 undead.

Their was about 80 undead skeletons so i allowed the two mid-rank skeletons to take charge of forty each, the rest were hordes of zombies i had my three mid-rank zombies guiding them, i kept Grim close as he was my personaly knight, he hand 10 undead under him that he thought. The other two took control over 55 zombies.

After their tribulations each one ended up with different occupations that suited them most, they also acted as paths that other undead could follow after. The two skeletons became distance-based, one becoming an archer while another becoming a mage, any skeleton that passes their tribulation could choose either path or forge one for themselves. For the mid-rank zombies Grim became a knight, while the other two became soldiers but focused on different weapons, a spear and sword.

It was time to move on too the next place calling our name, the closet place to this island was another island but it was larger and had a direct connection to the mainland of this rock. I had my mid-rank undead control the low-ranking undead to create some manageable boats that could get us the the other island.

As we sailed out the the other island i took one last look at the island we were leaving. As a side effect of almost completely removing undead essence from the island the forest grew beyond recognition, the forest now doubled in height and completely cover the island, even the surround waters looked less murky. The race that once lived on the island may have perished, but that only left the place open for a new race to grow their.

After a two week journey, we landed on the island, instead of the normal forest like the first island, this place was completely covered in giant mushrooms, the whole ecosystem was focused around fungi and from a distance i could spot mushroom covered undead roaming about in the shadows of the mushroom. It was hard to make out but their was something floating in the sky but it looked like whatever it was, it wasn't something living as it just stood in the same exact spot.

"This will be fun!"
